Default agree to a point

no disrespect intended, but i don't agree with abortion for any reason other than medical. being a woman i could not understand for any reason why an innocent baby should not be given the chance at life even if it was a product of a loveless and violent act such as rape. being raped is a fear that every woman has and i cannot imagine the pain and emotional damage victims expereince. i do not mean to seem insensitive to rape victims, in fact i have a close family member who is a victim and has a baby as a result, but what about the baby? how is someone going to distinguish whether or not a woman's reason (rape, etc) is true? allowing abortion in certain circumstances is like allowing only some people to use marijuanna legally for certain reasons. similary issues would arrise, 'why can't everyone do it?'

i really don't mean to be disrespectful to anyone, i just think that it's unethical and a form of murder to terminate a human life even before it is born (no matter what stage of development the fetus is at). there are many alternatives to abortion such as adoption that can allow the baby to live and the mother to be free of a responsibility resulting from a painful and damaging event in her life.

Dude... she owns that womb. You don't have any say so there. If she wants an abortion, she'll get one with or without you.

Default its ok, lila

It's not disrespectful, it's your own opinion and you are entitled to it. Dont feel bad about expressing it, that's what is great about this country.

And to Senax and Ernest goes to camp-yeah, you are right. I am not saying i would physically force her to not do it, im just saying she would know pretty clear where i stand. I guess treading over others rights doesnt seem like a good idea.

Default me conservative thug

but I am all for personal freedoms. Really, I fit in pretty well with the Libertarian party (not that I agree with everything they stand for), but it is just not a viable party right now.

Gay marriage? Send me the handcrafted invitation! Should be a fabulous time!
Privacy? Leave me alone!
Welfare? Sure, but what's the exit strategy for you to get off of it?
Janet's boobie? Oh, please!
Abortion? There is no right answer. Both sides of argument are right, both sides of argument are horrible wrong. Leave it as a personal choice. << that's a period

Default umm, yes

I think we all do unless we are preprogrammed automatons and if that were the case we'd be too busy working the Bush or Kerry campaigns to post anything here...

I am registered libertarian but I actually support the Iraq war...more of an ex-republican Libertarian which means I care more about lower taxes than certain other things...I think that the isolationist streak of the Libertarian party is naive...

I do think that with the advent of computers, new surveillance methods and relaxed means of implementing those (i.e. Patriot Act) that the majority of America will in a few years understand really well how important our civil liberties including Privacy (thank you Supreme Court) are...

Default Do you have a view that goes against your grain?

I'm a conservative. (I know... it's so surprising and hard to believe that just by reading my other posts on this board)

But I think we need to be WAY more environmentally conscious than we are at present. President Bush brought up the Hydrogen Car almost as an afterthought in his last State of the Union message. I think it was probably just lip service, because the Republican party falls way short on this issue.

I feel that replacing the internal combustion engine with something more environmentally friendly, and cheaper to run, would settle a lot more than just environmental issues. Think about it, we could pack up and pull out of the Middle East. No more need for oil. No more need for continued drilling in controversial areas of the planet. The rest of the world would be wanting to buy this new technology from us in a BIG way.

What issues do you have that would seem to go against your "apparent" political views? Are you liberal but conservative in your idea of government spending? Are you conservative, but are wanting a socialized health care system? What are your thoughts?

A friend once told me (after she got to know me better).. "You're pretty conservative for a liberal".

I won't bother with specific issues, but suffice it to say that both sides have something good to bring to the table. Problem is that the moderates are being drowned out by all the partisan bickering from the extremists on both sides.
