Thread: 7 year old girl weighed over 400 lbs

I think this is a much bigger problem in our country than children going without food.

That and idiot parents like this who don't have any concept of responsibility and just let give their children whatever they want if they whine loud enough.

Fotunately the girl was given medical attention and has lost most of her weight, but now has permenant damage to her legs because of how much pressure the weight but on her bones. Up until she had her surgery she wasn't even able to walk or breathe properly, and was on the verge of dying when she was finally rushed to the hospital.

The "mother" (if you call her that) should have been charged with child abuse.

I had seen this jaw-dropping story on the news awhile back - oh, I fully agree that the so-called 'mother' should be charged w/child abuse. One thing I don't understand is that the kid is only 7 - it took several yrs to pack on that much weight and during that time, there was the kid's pediatrician and family members who didn't speak up to help this girl? I don't know .... m/b they did, but no one would listen....

From what I had heard then, the child will never be able to walk b/c her legs are now permanently deformed due to the weight for so long. Some people should never have kids.......

Teachers, doctors, neighbors...someone should have called CPS on the parents.

A year ago I gained 30 lbs in no time. Not saying this is the case here, but...

I stopped drinking out of plastic bottles, took milk thistle and it came right off. Liver failure can cause rapid weight gain.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, there is no IQ test, responsibility test, or test to ensure one's head is not in their ass prior to creating a child.

People are idiots. I never for a second doubt that.

No, there's no similarities...... this kid is only 7 and it had to have taken at least a couple of yrs, if not longer for her to balloon up to over 400#, kids that young don't prepare their own meals and when the weight started piling on, the parent(s) did nothing about it........

Where was the pediatrician? Relatives, friends? since obviously the parent didn't give a rat's ass they were slowly killing their kid....

And people here diss on the First Lady for educating Americans on how to eat healthy.
