That's what I did... took my mom to Hawaii twice, Aruba once and NYC for Mother's Day one year.

Nothing like making your own way in the world. Beats spending a lifetime whining because you're 'unfulfilled' -- or in Michelle's case, 'not proud of your country...'

She basically told them to 'follow their hearts' -- like I've said from the beginning, bad advice for graduating seniors.
Really? You think they have 20k to give away?

It's actually really good advice. You will be happy if you are pick a profession that you love. If you hate your work, you probably are not gonna do a good job at it. If someone's happy helping out the poor yet getting low wages themselves, good for them and I wish everyone could be that decent. Like I said, money ain't everything. Open up a Bible and it will tell you the same.

If you like your work, you will be fulfilled even with a small salary. If you don't, you could be a billionaire but still be unfulfilled.

Let's stop pretending the US Government is concerned about democracy and freedom of other nations. It does not even care for the lives of innocent civilians outside its borders and anyone who supports its actions is just as guilty. Let's not just pretend to be good like Hitler, but actually be good.

Now that I've had time to give it some thought, it was a very dumb thing to say. How'd you like to be sitting there with your brand new degree in accounting and hear somebody say that (*)(*)(*)(*)? Guess the 'elite' don't realize our country's businesses need skilled professionals to maintain their competitive edge.

Oh wait, these are liberals we're talking about here. Business is the enemy... esp big businesses that pay the best salaries and offer the best benefits.

According to Michelle and her ilk, we should all be (*)(*)(*)(*)ing ballerinas.
Heh, yep. I wonder just how many Obama supporters the Indians are in competition with here for brainpower? One need only read Dilbert to get an inkling of the life of engineers today. They work hard and put up with crap, but they earn good money and we need 'em!

Obama lubbers want $20.00/hr to serve coffee and frappaccinos part-time at Starbucks.

Well, if they're really not into work, they should look into corporate outsourcing and slashing for profit. Much easier than actual work, and far more profitable.
EVERYBODY call in sick tomorrow, then watch real change begin. Hit the corporate fat cats directly in the pocketbook.

When Barack Obama became Senator Obama, Michelle Obama's salary was tripled. When the University of Chicago Medical Center was asked what Michelle Obama would be doing that justified tripling her salary we were told, "Lot's of things. More than we can mention." And, they didn't mention it and, not surprisingly, the media didn't press them.

It's another instance of liberals making it clear that what they think you should do is certainly not what they intend to do.

Just because you don't like someone or because you don't agree with their politics doesn't mean that every word they say is false. I think that what Michelle Obama said was true in this case. Life isn't about making the most money. There's that old adage that on your deathbed you're not going to think about all the money you made, but you will be thinking of the people that love you.

With all things in life there must be a balance. For me, it is making enough money to have a retirement and having enough time to enjoy my life now.

Greed, the acquisition of wealth, bling is good...all that (*)(*)(*)(*) led us to where we are now, a global economic system pushing the edges of oligopoly.

Funny, I have a friend who's a manager with Staples, makes good money and would disagree with you about Romney. He pretty much thinks the guy hung the moon. Guess he'll be cancelling out your vote for Bozo, huh?

I think it's because lefties have always been so busy avoiding work, they've never learned to feel that satisfaction putting in a good 8 hour day brings you. Sure, I've had jobs I HATED before. Had to drag myself in every morning and dreaded the weekend ending on Sunday nite. However, I took the conservatives way out and found another job I liked better. Never just quit working and went off to 'follow my heart.'

Wonder what Michelle was saying while shaking her fist during the U of O speech? SCREW THE MAN???

Possibly, if they happen to be voting in the same state
