Let's be blunt shall we.......

The more and more we undermine our position of the UN, the more hypocritical our stance becomes. We undermine the UN (of which we were a founding member and dictated what it stood for!!!!!!) and it's seen as only undermining ourselves.

The more we do to undermine our position will lead to us collapsing prematurely. P**sing off everyone in the world, while other nation's are rising (faster than we are, every year) we'll bring about the end to glorious 'Pax Americana'. Pax Americana is the best, until we can bring about a Pax UN.

Surely if we in the West work together we could sort it out? But no, no alliances let's go alone and get dangerously isolated, great plan Blade.

The UN is a corrupt organization and a forum for anti-US activity. The time to dump this club of dictators is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy past. The US should create a new United Democratic Nations, to which only democratic nations are invited.

Interesting idea.

But what happens when the UDN wants to make an international law that, though good for pretty much everyone on Earth, is bad for some corporation that happens to be chipping in for the campaigns of American politicians at the moment?

'Cause they will. Let's take the example of environmental law. This hypothetical UDN would be just as likely as the UN to want international agreements regarding pollution and species extinction. Probably more likely. You're not going to want to make corporations follow those agreements, any more than you do now.

How will you disqualify the nations of the UDN then? Perhaps you'll recommend the creation of some other organization that you'll suddenly feel would be better qualified to manage international law?

So would Pakistan and Uzbekistan be allowed to join the UDN? They have democratic governments after all....I mean once you ignore the rampant torture and harsh police actions used to maintain power. Well, our government ignores those happening all the time there so I guess it can't be much of a stretch.

What about Afghanistan? A "democracy" based on Sharia Law, would it be allowed?

2. Prevention of an arms race in outer space.

These are specific votes (and there are more...) that have gone:
"The World" vs. U.S (veto)

1. Does our country really want peace?
2. Is the U.S becoming a "Rogue" superpower?
Certainly not since the year 2000.

Correction. Every country in the world other than the United States.

I'm not saying the rest of the world is better, I'm looking for ways to make the rest of the world better!
(Just in case you hadn't noticed - obviously you haven't)

Peace.

Not for the price you are asking.

Peace is desirable, but not at any cost.
