If you're focusing on individuals, I think you have to start with Reagan. His policies were extremely instrumental in inspiring Islamic hatred for the U.S. when he began the build-up of American forces in the region to head off Soviet access to the oil.

We're in a tough situation. Unless and until we can wean ourselves off that oil and get the hell out of there, radical Islamic extremists will always have it out for Americans - period. This idea of hunting down the terrorists until we "kill (or jail) every last one of them" is ludicrous. It's impossible - IT CANNOT BE DONE!!!

It doesn't matter who's in power - republican or democrat. Unless and until we address the issues at the root of Islamic terrorism and change some of our strategies accordingly I'm afraid Americans will always be in danger.

They will test the Dems with heavy pressure. If Kerry & co do not pass the test, then they will continue the press for as long as it takes.

Bush obviously isn't the problem in the middle east, or with the terrorists. America is. But Bush is the problem with the rest of the world, and the reason we will not have support from them until a new leader is elected.
