Default Liberal fascism

Jonah Goldberg's symbol (on his book cover) for liberalism is dead on target - it pins liberalism firmly to the dissecting board with the best and funniest icon I've ever seen for liberalism:

I'd be more impressed if Jonah weren't such a dumbass.

Oh yes... that's deep.

"You guys is the happy Hitler. Look at the mustache. Haw Haw."

Hilarious... and never done before, I'm sure.

Not to get technical, but Mussolini was not a member of the American left.

Default Liberal Fascism is an Oxymoron

If there is one thing consistent about Fascist movements in various countries, it is that they all share a contempt for Liberalism. Fascism is a political philosophy of the extreme RIGHT, one that commonly solicits support by praising the Volk and their traditional values. That's not anyone's idea of Liberalism.

Sorry, if you want to attack Liberalism, you'll have to try a different tack.

He's referring to Bob J. Mussolini, an American union steward from Gary, Indiana.

so here is an accepted definition of liberalism.

Quote:
A political theory founded on the natural goodness of humans and the autonomy of the individual and favoring civil and political liberties, government by law with the consent of the governed, and protection from arbitrary authority... source
personally i find nothing objectionable with it nor can i equate it in anyway to this definition of fascism;

Quote:
A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism... source
so what is it exactly we are debating? are we redefining the english language on the fly, on our own?

this is very confusing to old gringo living in the outback of new mexico.

Default Book report!

So what's in the book that impressed you so much, Blade?

You did actually read it, right?
