Even if they can hold off for a little while, they will eventually run out of ammunition and there is nobody resupplying them, no factories making them more. No one to service their weapons.
The population will have control. This has always been the biggest fear of governments throughout history and its been proving time and again.
Case in point, simply look at any of the riots throughout our history, the police are easily overwhelmed and even if they were to engage in live fire, the other side will be shooting back. How long do you think a few hundred would last against an armed mob of thousands even if they have superior weapons?
Not long. Look how long it took the police to take down the two gunmen in L.A. who had body armor and automatic weapons. Its not as easy as you think, now multiply these two men by a few thousand and you have a problem for the military or law enforcement.
Look at the Vietcong who were easily outgunned yet they definitely held their own and were on equal footing once our guys left their bases. Take away artillery support and...well, you can see how its going to turn out.
Are you guys really this mentally insane? The only chance a rebellion would have of survival is if the Govt/Military decided they didn't want to massacre you and just left you alone until the rebellion subsided. You guys absolutely live in your own made up world.
