Default Can't You Feel It?

Despite all our recreational bickering on this forum, can't you just feel the energy collecting as conservatism is finally being discarded from our lives, and the America that was meant to be is evolving at a record pace?

Wonderful things are on the horizon, folks. Finally, we'll be able to speak with a single voice and finish our development into a 21st century society, without the hinderance and stonewalling from the right-wing.

Can't you just feel it?

are you sure that was not caused by x-lax?

conservatism (the real thing) is something i value and not want it purged from our lives
but if the inquiry is more about sensing a change in views, especially from that 2004 re-election zenith, my perception is that it has absolutely changed. of course kool-aid stock (kraft) was at its apogee in 2002

I would not start putting the nails in the coffin just yet. Conservatism is more resilient than you think. People are always distrustful of the gov't and want the gov't out of their lives. This is the main ideal of conservatism. That will always remain popular among the people.

Well, just for gloating purposes I'll point out that conservatism is sooo popular that conservatives have no candidate for president.

Face it.............times are past when we can ever again afford to accomodate out-dated notions on private property or other individualism. With populations exploding around the world and communication technologies gaining speed almost daily, we can no longer tolerate "laisse faire" policies conservatives dream of. Strong centralized government with guidelines and directives made to organize the masses is the only way to hold society together. Get over it...........this is a new day and change is about to be completed!

Actually, no, I don't feel it. I hope that the conservatism of say ,William Buckley, will always be part of American discourse. I would not miss the warfare, big government, corporate nanny conservatism of the neo-cons but they just call themselves " conservative ". They are not going away unless the South secedes.

Anyhow, the nation is going bankrupt and the next pres. , whoever he(she) may be, will have a heck of a mess to sort out, so if its a Dem, don't be surprised if its a one term presidency

Are you kidding me!?! The values of individualism and private property are the very foundations that our country is build on. any one who advocates collectivism is fundamentally against the values of the Constitution. Hell according to the Founding Fathers, that would be grounds for a revolt.

Now Zoe, don't go all misty-eyed on us here. You've been a good proponant of government controls and redistribution of wealth. Stick with your ideals. This is a time for celebration.

Look. With the virtual elimination of personal property, fairness to the less fortunate can flourish while the greedy will be stripped of their ill-gotten gains. Government oversight of income, property, education, healthcare, vocational dispatchment, and family planning will create the balance necessary for efficient modern life.

This is indeed a time for celebration as the old falls away giving way for the newness of hope and change.

Our country is built on change and growth of society. Individualism and private property served their purposes long age, but now stand in the way of progress.

Do you realize that the Constitution blocks the way for the US's blending into the global society by demanding American sovereignty be upheld? Now is the time to move forward and set aside useless old documents that haven't really applied to our country in decades. This is a time of hope and change.
