@eleanoraquitaine

I take issue with your comments because it shows a lack of knowledge of history and cultural sensitivity, and displays an astonishing level of arrogance. Have you ever lived abroad or interacted with peoples from various countries? Are you even aware of the tumultuous history of Iran? Or do you just take pride in the fact that the US is the world's "only superpower" and expect the them to grant our every whim?

Are you actually suggesting that the Iranian people should begin a revolution at the behest of the USA and actually *assist* us when we invade their country and kill their brothers and sisters? That's like saying that since the majority of US citizens don't like the Bush Administration and that the international community thinks the US is dangerous and out-of-control, China should come "help" us by launching an attack on our country.

If you've read up on your history, you'd know that we've already tried regime change in Iran. We murdered their leaders and replaced their elected government with the Shah who was much more in-tune with American special interests. Guess how that turned out? A full-scale revolution that led to the anti-American religious leaders of today. The CIA has a term for it; it's called blowback. Look it up.

I think it's sad that you think thousands of our men and women are worth sacrificing for the sake of another foreign country. Our military is already stretched thin and we're hardly capable of launching another ground war according to our top military officials. You're probably not aware/don't care, too, that our country is in deep economic trouble and financial collapse is not far off in the future. Have you looked at our national debt lately? We've gone from the world's top creditor to the world's biggest debtor, and it won't be long before they'll come calling.

The value of the dollar is decreasing, inflation is rising, and the standard-of-living is going down. It's ironic that instead of focusing on the very real problems in our own country and helping our own people, we're concerned about how people should live and act 6,000 miles away where civilization began.

Not very well you don't, considering that you fail to quote anything directly and fall back on some very generalized platitudes disconnected from facts. Much of your response is also strung out among numerous barely related topics.

Try to focus.

Define "victory".
Destroying saddam's regime was a victory. A stable, friendly democracy in iraq is another victory, and obliterating the iranian regime another.

Actually, he speaks very much with specifics and particularly attacks your argument that the Iranian people should start a revolution. He mentions the Shah, a lack of sustainability of an "Iranian liberation campaign", and attacks your contention that the US is the greatest military power the world has ever seen. Guess what, the Romans felt the same way and then were defeated by the Germanic tribes when they spread themselves too thin. Hubris is one of the greatest mistakes a country can make.

I believe that war is not going to happen and I hope (quite desperately) two countries to be friends instead of foes. killing each other is the worst way to negotiate. human has a big brain, to talk, not to kill.
What two countries are you viewing as "friends"?

No, he didn't, and neither did you. He made a pretty speech indicating his moral disapproval of the truth, but did not contradict any of the mentioned facts or thesis in any way.

I wouldn't trade spit with them. I would trade blood though. Definately good warriors.
