Thread: How Much Blame Should Go To Trayvon Martin's Parents ?

  1. Default How Much Blame Should Go To Trayvon Martin's Parents ?

The tragic George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case and all the media attention around it seems to have overlooked something important. Trayvon Martin was a minor (17 years old) who committed a violent criminal act. He tried to kill somebody (George Zimmerman). He also was found with women's jewelry in his possession, which he had no explanation for. He also had no explanation for possessing a screwdriver (great for prying open windows), in the same backpack that he had this mysterious jewelry He also was a suspicious character walking around in housing complex late at night, in the rain.

So, being a minor and all these suspicions & transgressions associated with him, how come nobody is looking at the culpability of Trayvon Martin's parents ? (when there are parents of other minors who are serving time in jail for what their kids did)

And what about the idea that Trayvon was not schooled by his parents to be aware of the dangers of the adult world in Florida ? Trayvon's last 12 years were spent in a school environment where thugs are free to go around bullying other kids, while spineless school officials, not wanting to get involved, look the other way. Could it be that Trayvon (unschooled by his parents of the dangers of the streets) just went around acting like the mean streets were equivalent to his little do-what-you-want schoolyard ? Could it be that his parents never mentioned to him that Florida has a concealed weapons license law, and that millions of people in Florida walk the streets carrying guns ? Could it be that Trayvon thought his encounter with George Zimmerman would be just another schoolyard type beating he could lay on somebody, with no questions asked ? I can't help getting the feeling that young (and very naive) Trayvon was like a little toddler wandering in a bear's den, oblivious to the danger. So how do his parents fit into this ?

Lastly, I noticed today on the TV news shows that Trayvon's father was seeking to upgrade Trayvon's name form being cast as a thug. Hmmmm. Could this be because he would like to have less attention paid to the negligence that he and Trayvon's mother exhibited, which might have allowed Trayvon to develop into being a thug, ....just to cover their own asses ?

Yeah, it's their fault that maddog Zimmerman blasted a hole in their son, after being told by police to back off. Of course, the murderer isn't guilty of anything. Gimme a break. They don't fry that killer Zimmerman, and there will be one giant sheetstorm all across the country, and who would blame them? The F'er's guilty. Sentence him to death and be done with it, and restore some shred of credibility to the criminal justice system.

Lynch mob justice does nothing to "restore credibility" to the criminal justice system.

Also great for screwing in screws.

Martin couldn't explain why he had those things?!?! How horrible. He should have resurrected himself as a zombie so he could explain it.

And why the hell would somebody need to explain a screwdriver. It's not exactly contraband.

Incidentally, I do admire and appreciate your use of honest terminology, calling it a screwdriver, instead of "burglar instruments" or whatever they tried to call it.

Nor does letting a killer off on BS do anything good for the justice system. It'll only weaken it, and cause chaos.

Is a screwdriver the thing kids wear today. Is that like a new fashion accessory? Do I need to go get my teenager some screwdrivers so he can have street cred?

It is doubtful the police recommended that firearms be carried by any members of Zimmerman's neighborhood watch committee. Most of these groups are organized with the help and advice of local law enforcement.

If the group in which Zimmerman was a member did not receive an official outline of duties and regulations regarding the actions permitted by such groups, Zimmerman cannot use ignorance of the law as his excuse for arming himself and putting himself into a situation where the use of lethal force would be possible.

A call to 911 is all that was needed and all he should have done. Since Zimmerman went looking for trouble, he deserves to get it.

same old bs spewed by liberal liars. druggie trayvon's mom kicked him out and his dad let him roam the neighborhood knowing what a delinquent he was. yes, they are to blame for alot of it. then there is the violent punk trayvon himself who attacked someone for eyeballing him. btw, george did exactly as he was told by the dispatcher. that lie has been debunked for a while now so you can stop repeating it.
