The Neocons believe that Liberals want Dubya dead. Why?

You see, MOST if not ALL of the liberals I know care nothing about "revenge". Revenge is a Republican trait, not a liberal one. You can look no further than Iraq to see that.

But, like the jewel thief who keeps his stolen wares in a huge vault to keep other thieves from stealing, the Neocons seem to think that everyone has THEIR mentality. Just because YOU want to KILL people who are ignorant, arrogant, hypocrites who do_crappy work does not mean WE feel that way.

So get over yourselves. We do NOT think like you.

We just want Dubya to go back to Texas and have nice BBQ with his neighbors. We don't want him dead. In fact, I imagine he's probably pretty entertaining, when he's not trying to be a politician.

Your disclaimer is ridiculous. If the FBI and Secret Service aren't perceptive enough to understand the difference between discussing the death of the president in a novel, and actually desiring the president's death, then they are too stupid to be protecting the president.

No one on the left wants the president dead (well maybe some do, but they live in their parent's basements and aren't really a danger to anyone). If anyone were to harm the president, it would probably be someone on the right (you did read Julius Caesar, right?).

Never say never, but I think there are at least as many, if not more, violent nutjobs on the right than on the left, so I think Kerry's in more danger if he's elected than Bush is -- might even be construed as the "patriotic" thing to do in these difficult times.

That said, I don't sit up nights worrying about either scenario. Presidential (and candidate) security is pretty darn good.

Is it really worth discussing what extremists at either end of the spectrum might do? Usually it just turns into an evidence-free way to slander the political persuasion of your choice. Extremists do not represent the cause they purport to support.

Maybe it has something to do with the venom, hatred, and anger expressed by many a Neolib. Revenge isn't a Republican trait, it's a human trait. Plus there is a book out by some left wing nut on how to assassinate Bush...hmmmm interesting. Maybe you should open your eyes and quit trying to view your party through rose colored glasses.

The want to assassinate any president is sick. I wouldn't have wished death upon Clinton. Whether I voted for him or not, whether I liked him or not; he was President of the United States and deserved all the respect of that office. The blinding anger and hatred of the left directed at Bush is both laughable and disgusting at the same time (which is a weird combination). All you have to do is read one of these neolibs posts to see it.

Read the link. One, it's a novel, by an established novelist. Two, the protagonist is clearly deranged. Three, the methods he proposes are clearly fanciful, such as "radio-controlled flying saws" and a giant boulder made of depleted uranium.

Agreed. And nobody on this board is advocating that, as best I can tell. So who are you arguing against?

There are just as many haters on the right as on the left. The trick is to ignore them, and stop trying to use the extremists to demonize an entire half of the political spectrum. As Catz herself has said, Eric Rudolph doesn't represent antiabortion activists. Why, then, do you try to use something like this to paint all "liberals" with a broad brush?
