It seems alot(if not most of) the very conservative posters here start every argument from the premise that they know they are right, and you are stupid for disagreeing with them. The fact that people just assume the other person is wrong on principle (whether or not they actually know what the principle is) is just plain ignorance, and comes from both sides of the spectrum. It has a lot to do with how a person is raised, and they will usually just spout out whatever their parents taught them to.

It would be great if we could somehow come up with a fair and unbiased test to make sure that people who vote understand the principles behind the issues, instead of just having people vote for who ever they think will get them the most money. Of course, it would be pretty hard to do that.

Leftism is more of a religion. Marx is not supposed to be interpreted as a scientist, more of a prophet. If all the true believers all come together to overthrow some corrupt and weak government somewhere, it might happen. The only problems come when the faithful start to stray from the church/state. Then the Communist government has to get oppressive and Inquisitorial. Leftism just is not supposed to have principles.

Oh, I completely agree... but it's idiocy to expect something other than catastrophe from religious fervor absent divine and final accountability; which is what the left is and has always been about.

AGW and the desperate lunge to shove it up the cultural rectum is a perfect example... just read anything Gore's written in the last 8 years and it drips with pentacostal ferver, standing on NOTHING but psuedo faith.

But we best hold it down, much more of this and we'll drive off the game and all we'll have left is a bunch of Americans standing around agreeing with other and I've absolutely no interests in that...
