Thats a huge and false assumption. The two religions have very little in common really aside from both worshipping a God. Look at Jesus, a pacifist, compared to muhammed, a raping murdering, child molesting, thieving thug. Jesus recognized secular authority. islam recognizes nothing but its own authority. You might as well say if Christianity could reform so could naziism or satanism.

There is no difference between a moderate muslim and an extremist muslim in philosophy, at least that can be proven. If they are muslim, they view the unholy quran as the words of God and therefore view murdering or enslaving non-muslims as a sacred, eternal duty. Not all muslims embrace this "highest calling of jihad" but that doesn't mean they don't believe.

DanishDynamite, you didn't even know what Dhimmitude is but you feel qualified to defend islam as if you know what you are talking about? Why don't you check out these flicks and learn something of the facts instead of simply wishing that "everyone is nice down deep." It just isn't so. It would be really wonderful, but evil actually does exist and islam unfortunately is about as evil as something can get.

Jesus was a pacifist? He violently threw the moneychangers out of the temple, and he famously said "I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword." He wasn't a warlord like Muhammad, but he wasn't a Quaker, either.

The whole reason he got crucified is because he kept subverting the authority of the Pharisees. And his ambiguous "render unto Caesar" quote aside, at his trial one of the charges was subverting the tax-collection system.

Which, naturally, explains why hundreds of millions of Muslims live peacefully under secular laws....

And rhetoric like this is why you are not a credible source on Islam.
