However its equally as idiotic to claim that another "crusade" is a good idea.

Thats the last thing that is going to make the world a better place is a war based on Religion and having it be out in the open.

Look at how long and hard of a conflict Iraq has been turning out to be....You start a "crusade" and you are looking at a war that will still be around for our childrens children and their childrens children.

When those people feel that their religion is being attacked they wont ever stop fighting. If we declared a "crusade" against them, then I wouldnt blame them for being pissed either.

What we NEED to do is get out of that part of the world. They dont want us there, clearly a large part of this country doesnt really care for them....So lets get energy independent, tell Israel they are on their own (unless they are invaded or whatever) and lets just get out of there and away from that entire situation.

A crusade is a waste of time and would end up being a war of the magnitude that would bankrupt this nation.

I can't really disagree with much of what you said, but this notion of abandoning the targets of hatred to those who hate them seems rather backwards to me. If there were, say, 600 million KKK members instead of the current levels, would that justify abandoning the targets of their hatred in this country? Why would the principle be any different when dealing with other parts of the world?


I just do not understand the rationale behind abandoning a friend simply because the ingrained hatred of others towards them is used to justify similar hatred towards us. In an area of the world where Mein Kampf is a best seller, and the political ideology has been so heavily influenced by the association between Arabs and Nazi Germany in the 30s and 40s., why capitulate to such hatred simply because it exists?

If they want us out of "their" lands, lands they conquered already, then they need to first get out of our lands. If and when every muslim in Western countries goes back to their barbarian lands, then leaving the ME might be worth negotiating. Of course, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia invited and asked us to come there (along with others), so one has to wonder why we should obey UBL and his islamoterrorist like over the leaders of these muslim countries.

But, the liberals seem to favor obeying terrorists in the hope they will stop their murder. It seems they wish to put them in charge of American foreign policy and to some extent the entire world. Its pretty bizarre, especially considering the islamoterrorists are committing terrorism against countries who are not militarily involved in the ME whatsoever. islam is perfectly willing to kill anyone that isn't a muslim. It has nothing to do with us daring to be in land they consider theirs because they conquered it.
