But one of my favorites from the New Testiment:

Rom 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Rom 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
Rom 2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
Rom 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Rom 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
Rom 2:10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
Rom 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

Jesus had a sense of humor. He spoke in koans. He was a Zen master. Many of the things he told people to do were simply riddles that he never expected people to be able to actually do. Study Zen if you want to understand Jesus.

Its soooo sad that people don't understand Jesus because he really did bring the Good News- that the Kingdom of heaven is here and now and not something attainable only by the "perfect" after their death.

We should stop thinking of the 'eternal reward' we will receive and instead concentrate on building a heaven here on earth. Actually use the words of Jesus, but we seldom do.

Jim Morrison said it best:

'No eternal reward will forgive us for wasting the dawn'

The theme is reiterated in Acts 4:32-37:

Sounds like capitalism is also incompatible with Christianity.

Acts is usually used by libs as an example of biblical communism. They don't understand it, of course but that doesn't stop them.

That is quite true, but you don't need to be a Buddhist to understand that nor do you have to make Jesus out to be a Buddhist.

Not a Buddhist, a Zen master. And, I disagree. I think it is impossible to truly understand Jesus without understanding Zen.

There is no evidence that Jesus studied anything but Judaism. He was a Rabbi.

Actually there is some evidence, though it is pretty weak. It is known that Zen had reached areas of the World where Jesus traveled at some point early in his life and, of course, the extreme similarity between hundreds of his quotes and Zen koans makes a coincidence extremely hard to believe. On the other hand, the literal Son of God would clearly know everything, including Zen.

Sensitive subject for 'Christians", I know, but not silly. One first has to realize that Jesus spoke in koans before one could understand the koans. I think a great many Christians misinterpret Jesus because of this failure and because the Christian Church over the years, of course, has abused and twisted the words of Christ to justify what he would condemn. Still, I am not saying I have issues with Christians or anything. I think they absorbed the most important elements of Christ's message, just not the most uplifting.
