At first I had hoped people were starting to care about social injustices when I read the title, but the post dissappointed me. Instead of realizing that America has a major urban slum issue someone decided to "blame the blacks." The issue isn't race but poverty. In districts with high income, schools always do better; in district with low income, despite massive amounts of federal funding and programs, education suffers.

I saw this today at work, and I couldn't believe it. That is extremely pathetic, and the entire social structure of Detroit needs to change if this is getting worse. Communities really need to get together and do something.

You know it is sad, they need inspiration, what a waste of brains, you know instead of pointing fingers doesn't somebody think this is a calamity and do something, its time to give cops more power, it is time knowledge is respected, people do not realize knowledge has always been the great equalizer and the agent of progress, there is no progress in being a thug except to raid the produce of those who produce. This is not about pointing fingers, be concerned, do not use your heart but use your mind, if so many blacks drop out of school what is their future, school has to be attractive, the knowledge of blacks has to be accepted if it is better, if people see black knowledge being disregarded solely on basis of race what then is the point of school.
