That was a long time ago. People change. Certainly George W Bush changed since his early days. We can't chastize people for what they did during their youth, if we did, there would be no one good enough to serve us, and frankly, I am a believer that we learn from our mistakes. Whether or not KErry has learned from his mistakes is another question entirely.

So....if he's changed his positions on those points, he needs to say so and apologize to all those Vietnam guys he accused of atrocities. And it seems on the "Cambodia lie"....they haven't explained it. And these are not minor things here. In the Cambodia lie.....he was doing it to smear his president and his country at the time. Just as he was when he accused his fellow Vietnam brothers of those atrocities saying that our government "forced them to do those things." Same with the Cambodia lie: if he's changed his mind, he needs to apologize for unjustly smearing a president of the U.S. and his country at that time(1986) by making up that lie.
I want someone as president who truly loves this country as much as I do. Not someone who will lie about it....not someone who will lie and provide propaganda to our enemies. I get the impression that John Kerry thinks more of France than he does his own country.
I'm usually a pretty good judge of character. And I'm not seeing any in John Kerry. At least Bill Clinton's character flaws were only of a personal nature. I never once thought Clinton didn't love this country with all his heart and soul. He would not have sold us out. I'm not so sure about John Kerry. Kerry seemed to object to Clinton's second Inaugural address....when he said our nation was "indispensable." Kerry thought that was "arrogant." Besides, we're not talking about chastizing someone for something they said in their youth. The Cambodia lie was told in 1986 when he was Senator. And by then, he had been back from Vietnam for about 16 years.
