Default Most doctors support national health care?

WOW, never saw this coming? 59% of doctors surveyed said they support national health care?

http://www.reuters.com/article/healthNews/idUSN3143203520080331?feedType=RSS&feedName=health News&rpc=22&sp=true

Quote:

We asked doctors directly and found that, contrary to conventional wisdom, most doctors support national health insurance," said Dr. Aaron Carroll of the Indiana University School of Medicine, who led the study.

"As doctors, we find that our patients suffer because of increasing deductibles, co-payments, and restrictions on patient care," said Dr. Ronald Ackermann, who worked on the study with Carroll. "More and more, physicians are turning to national health insurance as a solution to this problem."

Why would doctors care? They'll still get paid regardless and won't be cutting prices by a dime.

I've asked doctors who I know and they say the governmental health care would cost them money.... Plus that survey was probably biased and are you sure they talked to M.D. or just people with PHD's?

I'd say it's time to move from Canada.

Never saw this coming? I have yet to meet a Doc who did NOT favor a national health care system. Of course, the doctors that I know are G.P.s so they are not becoming exceedingly wealthy on the current system. The specialists have more to lose, financially. The G.P.s have a front row seat on how stupid and inefficient the system has become. I would be iinterested to see a breakdown of which kind of doctors support national health.

I think the poll is BS. Sorry, but every doctor my son in med school knows is against govt involvement. Every doctor or nurse my best friend RN knows is against it too. Is there any link to what questions they asked?

What doctors know is that they are busy enough now. They already have the option of giving free medical care and many do. No sane doctor would want the federal govt to get further involved.

Most doctors are also pro disease... with out illness doctors would be out of work. You'd listen to a person like that?
