liberal vs. conservative???
This is my first class and I wanted to post on an issue that is the most important in America today:
What makes a "conservative"?
what makes a "liberal"?
Why have these distinctions been made?
It is my opinion that both political parties(rep and dem) are against the interests of the people; "left", "right" and center. In addition these distinctions have been consciously been created or have evolved with the intent of keeping the political and economic elite rich and powerful. While the plebs are POLARIZED over petty things(culture wars???wtf???); real justice for issues that are threatening to this order that both sides as human could agree on are IGNORED or twisted into left vs right.
such issues, I argue, are free-trade/neoliberalism, which benefits no one in the world but the capitalist class (who all our politicians happen to be from), corporate centralization, especially the media conglomeration, which crushes independent and local producers. the list could go on.
It's so easy to fall into left vs right, liberal vs. conservative, and democrat vs republican dichotomy, but can't we stop and realize that ruling class that run our country, democrat and republican represent no one but their own interests?
