Default What to do in Iraq?

The Iraqi forces are getting bigger, but they are also getting more useless. The 'battle of basra' proved that corruption still runs rampant. The civil war is dying down but the US is still funding ethnically and Islamic based militias, in addition to funding an increasingly Shiite dominated army. Iran and Turkey have both attacked the Kurdistan and it is entirely likely the attacks will continue.

Lets say your Donald Rumsfeld and you've weaseled your way into supreme power in this country, what do you do now, in April 2008?

Personally, I would get Iraq and Iran to fight each other and maybe mix Saudi Arabia up in it for kicks. Also, we need to give the Iraqi army their own intelligence service because I bet they could get better intelligence in their own country than us. And we should have a draft, a really big one.

Try not to pretend your a sociopath like Donald Rumsfeld when you do this. It simplifies things too much.

You aren't really Donald Rumsfeld, you just have his unimaginable supreme power over Iraq. You don't really have to be a sociopath.

Prove which? Iraqi army and police gave up their weapons to the mahdi army in some parts of Iraq, there is your proof of corruption.

Obviously we fund ethnic and Islamic militias, ever heard of an Awakening Council?

And everyone knows Turkey attacked Kurdistan and if you payed any attention you would have heard Iran shelled norther Iraq last year.

Nothing in there is even slightly questionable. I could use a harder slap than that..

Yeah, you're going to have a hard time here if you're just passing along what's told at the water jug.

How? Who do you put in power? Do you continue funding? Who do you fund?

Elaboration is required if people are going to start taking withdrawal seriously.
