Bottom line is the top 10% earners in this country pay nearly ALL of our tax burdon and the bottom 50% pay nearly nothing.

Yet their incomes are growing much faster than the rest of the population.

Its simple. Does Clinton want to end poverty more than she wants to be rich, so absurdly rich that giving away 99% of her money would still make her absurdly rich?

If not, she should shut the f up with her class warfare rhetoric.

That's perfectly understood. The issue is corporations like this do not pay taxes at the same rate as the personal income that would go to the stockholders as dividends. So I was simply clarifying that the quoted tax rates were referencing the individual income of the stockholders and not the company itself.

Now if you want to include the tax that the company pays in the calculation to the individual tax the shareholders pay, I can understand this argument. But many understand this tax on the company to be the price they pay for limited liability and to function as an "independent entity". So thank you, I understand perfectly well what you are talking about.

Then again, I don't expect a conservative not to suffer from a superiority complex.

If she wants to increase the tax burdon on top earners why not be the first in the pool?
Because that's no reason for everyone else to join in. A change like this has to come from the top down. Proposing a change that would equally effect should cast no doubt on the fairness of the action or her conviction. It doesn’t work to put the burden of social programs on the backs of the generous, legislation must be enacted to get everyone on board.

That's what happens when the top 10% earn nearly ALL of our national income and the bottom 50% earn nearly nothing.

The question is if dollar for dollar, your dollar should be taxed just as much as my dollar, rich, middle class or poor.

Big big talk coming out of this thread, from folks who like to put their hands in other people's pockets. Hell, in some societies, that's called STEALING.

Haha, you know nothing about my financial position. I most certainly will be "hurt" by this change. I'm no mega millionaire, but I am among the top 10% of the population in terms of my wealth. It's just like a conservative to stereotype, put everyone in one bucket, and jump to a conclusion.

And it's not stealing when it's government sanctioned by a legitimate government. In some societies, its called the price we pay for living in a community. Others don't believe in a community concept of society and would rather live in the state of nature, survival of the fittest. I prefer not to think like an animal.

Robin might as well have been. As CDP pointed out, he is royalty.
Soo the young Lord of Loxley Manor was of the ruling elite.

It is not called stealing in any society!!!!! It is always called taxation! Even our anti-taxation founding fathers found out that taxation is good and necessary, that is why they scrapped the articles of confederation and wrote the constitution!!
