And you said nasty things about someone who died. Do you have any decency?

Yeah, I was so nasty...

And this is the man's funeral.

And you're a member of his family.

Heston got alzheimer's and you call him "crazy" - yaaaaaaaa - real "critical thinking".
You realize, of course, that if it were anyone else, you'd be completely offended at this treatment of what is actually a horrific disease that strips people of their humanity.

And you call it "crazy."

nice.

liberal hypocrisy rears its ugly head, once again.

I'm aware of the horrific nature of the disease.

I'm also aware that there's a trend of conservative actors with the disease who maintain leadership positions after the onset.

I respect his tenacity; but I view him as something other than a force for good in this world.

And that doesn't change because he's dead.

Yes - it was sad news to hear. An impressive actor and big family man. He played lots of big characters too.

Much repected on this side of the pond. Ben Hur is always a great Christmas favorite on British Telly. Planet of the Apes and El Cid were two of my childhood favorites.

His politics were conservative and held with a strong conviction of a man that knew he was right.

In a recent interview I heard him reminisce on the fact that although he had played many great characters that were larger than life in his career - he regretted that he had never played the role of the Duke of Wellington, who was someone he greatly respected.

Arthur Wellesley would be pleased ....

Oh, really? So when he marched side by side with black folks during the civil rights movement, he gained no points with you?

Lyndon Johnson signed the civil rights act, but that doesn't negate what he did in vietnam.

I can respect a person who stands by their convictions; only for that resolution.

When I read about the 10's of thousands of people who are killed by guns in this country, far more than any other first world country, it's still Heston's cold, dead, hands that helped to make sure that hasn't changed.

Oh really? Your claim is that NRA members, most of whom are law-abiding, are responsible for those murders and NOT THE MURDERERS THEMSELVES?

Yeah, that's...logical.

He was a great actor. I might not have agreed entirely with him upon the issue of bearing arms (I don't exactly think that assault rifles and such weapons are absolutely necessary), but he was still a great actor. I loved Planet of the Apes. It's sad to see him go.

My claim is that Heston, in his capacity as President of the NRA, devoted his energy to keep guns flooding my city's streets, and I don't forgive him for that because he's dead.
