MSNBC.com identified 143 journalists who made political contributions from 2004 through the start of the 2008 campaign, according to the public records of the Federal Election Commission. Most of the newsroom checkbooks leaned to the left: 125 journalists gave to Democrats and liberal causes. Only 16 gave to Republicans. Two gave to both parties. .................................................. ................................................ http://hotair.com/archives/2007/06/2...democrats-9-1/ Shocka! Journalists give to Democrats 9-1 Like that 1990s survey revealing that about 90 percent of the Washington press corps supported Clinton, a president who didn’t crack 50% in either 1992 or 1996, didn’t tell us this years ago. Still, it’s one of those things the confirms what we already know: Journalists tend to be a bunch of libs who are are out to “change the world” rather than just report on it: .................................................. ................................................ http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19113455 The list: Journalists who wrote political checks The following 143 journalists made campaign contributions from 2004 through the first quarter of 2007, according to Federal Election Commission records studied by MSNBC.com. .................................................. ................................................ http://www.mediaresearch.org/reality...ax20080317.asp ![]() .................................................. .................................................. http://www.mrc.org/biasbasics/pdf/BiasBasics.pdf The Liberal Media Exposed Surveys over the past 25 years have consistently found that journalists are much moreliberal than rest of America. The Media Research Center has compiled the relevant data on journalist attitudes, as well as polling showing how the American public’srecognition of the media’s liberal bias has grown over the years. # Journalists Vote for Liberals: Between 1964 and 2004, Republicans won the White House seven times compared with four Democratic victories. But if only journalists’ ballots were counted, the Democrats would have won every time. # Journalists Say They Are Liberal: Surveys from 1978 to 2005 show that journalists are far more likely to say they are liberal than conservative, and are far more liberal than the public at large. # Journalists Reject Conservative Positions: None of the surveys have found that news organizations are populated by independent thinkers who mix liberal and conservative positions. Most journalists offer reflexively liberal answers to practically every question a pollster can imagine. # The Public Recognizes the Bias: Nearly nine out of ten Americans believe journalists sometimes or often let their personal views influence the way they report the news, and most say this bias helps liberals. Even a plurality of Democrats agree the press is liberal. # Denials of Liberal Bias. Many journalists continue to deny the liberal bias that taints their profession. # Admissions of Liberal Bias. A number of journalists have admitted that the majority of their brethren approach the news from a liberal angle. What follows are key data from nearly two dozen surveys about media bias. So why, then, is the media itself so thoroughly slanted conservative? 'Cause it really, really is. All you really have to do is watch it.
You don't even hear liberal ideas discussed in the mainstream media. You hear conservative ideas, and maybe (maybe) you hear the liberal opposition, but you never hear an actual liberal thought. |

Are you implying that Dan Rather had the power to do all those things without the approval of anyone else?

Lol, that's one interesting way to look at it. I imagine it's because liberals tend to be much more loud and obnoxious in general and would be naturally attracted to the media spotlight every day. Maybe that's why most people who want to become journalists become them... because they want to see some sort of liberal movement, so the field just naturally attracts the liberals.

Clearly the left controls every portion of the media. iS there any doubt the liberal agenda oozes out of Hollywood (movies, music, tv, etc.)? The liberal agenda can clearly be seen on channels like MTV, BET, and in magazines like Rolling Stone and SPIN. HBO gives Bill Maher one hour per week to push a liberal agenda and The View allows people like Rosie and Joy Behar to push their liberal views daily. Not to mention Letterman, Jon Stewart, SNL, and so many others. As for news, we've covered this in mutliple threads running right now. CBS, NY Times, Air America, Moveon.org, Media Matters, and so many other examples can be given. Look what Keith Olberman does nightly on MSNBC. Why is Hannity and O'Reilly bad but Olberman good? |
