lmao. Did you just ask me how I can support Hilary or Obama? You're making baseless assumptions. I'd never support either of those morons.
Clearly nobody wanted war. Bush gave Saddam MONTHS of warnings on top of the DECADE that Bill Clinton and the UN let him slide.

Saddam had ample time to fully cooperate with inspectors and join the world community. Lets not put this all on Bush. Saddam, even if he really had no WMD, did everything in his power to convince the world he had them. Even his top Generals thought he did. Saddam was given plenty of rope to hang himself. This was no spur of the moment invasion but built up over many months after 9/11 forced us to look closely at any threats in the middle east.

We did not invade Iraq overnight or right after Afghanistan but many on the left make it seem that way. The fact is Saddam had many months to make it clear he did not have WMD and would fully cooperate. Bush even gave him 48 hours before the actual invasion to leave the country but Saddam refused to go.

Do you really think a small military was gonna go into Iraq, take on Saddams well armed and respected military, capture him, and leave to put him on trial? You watch too many Rambo movies.
Tragedies don't give politicians and humans free reign to do as they please.

lmao. A large military? How do you figure? 300,000 compared to our active 1.4 million and if necessary, millions more.

Then use Marquee and Reprisal to do it if you don't like the other ideas.

We've wanted war with Iraq pre-9/11. 9/11 was just the launching pad.

I'm not putting it all on Bush. Bush has associates and the Democrats suck as well (as I've stated).

You are kidding right? You really think the UN was gonna go into Iraq, tangle with Saddams army, and arrest him? The UN has no backbone and without strong financial and military support from the US would not even exist.

Are you saying you'd be ok with the US going into Iraq as long as they answered to UN commanders? Oh boy you sound like John Kerry circa 2004.

The UN threatened Saddam with not 1, not 5, not even 10, but 17 seperate resolutions calling for the use of force to remove Saddam from power but did not want to enforce any of them despite Saddams blatant blocking and stalling of inspectors for more than a decade. This is serious business. We are talking about a known terorist supporter and financer who most everyone thought had WMD and all this after the events of 9/11!

The more we rehash this the more I'm convinced Bush did the right thing with the info available at the time.

War with Iraq would not have been possible if Saddam made it crystal clear he had no WMD and crystal clear early on that he would allow inspectors to do their job. Bush gave him plenty of time to do this.

The world community would never have supported this war in any way had Saddam done this.

Lets put the blame where it really belongs.

Saddams military was one of the most respected in the world before the 2003 war.

UN threats and sanctions did not work. Neither did Clinton bombing them in 1998 and enforcing no fly zones.

The UN was NEVER gonna send an international force into Iraq to arrest Saddam.

Haha. No I don't want the US to answer to the UN. I don't like the UN. I'd prefer as I've stated, Marquee and Reprisal personally.

Inspectors were allowed to do their job when Saddam realized war was coming.

This meeting clearly took place in 2002 or afterwards: almost a decade after the State Department claimed that Saddam had abandoned his nuclear weapons research."

Already debunked a long tome ago.

But let’s consider some of the alleged evidence, such as “tape ISGQ-2003-M0007379, in which Saddam is briefed on his secret nuclear weapons project”. You may read the transcript here, starting at slide 100. It’s Saddam being briefed by some of his nuclear scientists, about plasma research. Yes, they mention it has weapons applications. They also mention it has other applications. It is even true that the preservation of Iraqi nuclear research had value for the day when Iraq was free to make WMDs again. But it is emphatically not a discussion of a “secret nuclear weapons project”.

Show me anything substancial that suggests Saddam had a strong and respected military.
