I'm tired of going over the same s**t with different people over and over so I thought I just lay out my reasons in here.

I neither think Obama is perfect, nor expect him or any of the candidates to be such. He represents a potential change of the usual BS in government, maybe he wont live up to it and be like all the rest, but that's a risk I'm prepared to take. I don't live my life looking to be "satisfied" I always look to improve things both in my personal and professional life and also in my countries politics. And I'm pretty successful because of it.

However part of a presidents job is to actually go there and talk one on one about policy with foreign leaders. Sometimes a president is also called upon to make a snap decision(hence, I'm afraid, Hillarys 3am ad). As for "change" you don't look as smart as you'd like just saying that. It makes you look like you've been suckered. Obama has a specific list of changes he wants to make in the government and he talks about some other things (apperantly the sources of his funding). You should look to those things and see if you like what he's offering. |

It's all there if you take the time to read it, and you seem to be assuming that because I like him, I agree with everything he thinks. I don't. The most important thing to me is international relations, it's pretty much the only reason I'll vote for him over McCain, who I like considerably. This subject will effect everything else. Obama is prepared to talk to rouge nations, it might not achieve anything, but not talking definitely wont achieve anything. (see: North Korea (now have nukes), Iran (almost certainly trying to get them) and Cuba(Cubans living in the same conditions for the last half a century)) We talked to the Russians during the cold war, that turned out OK, sort of, so far lol This is the change I'm looking for, simple as that.

Well I'll grant that Obama does have different views on some of those. He seems to want to losen restrictions on Cuba. Nice for the people living there. Also for building back a powerful communist country. It sounds like he'll wind up doing a lot of talking with North Korea, probably giving them money. McCain might be more likely to turn the screws on the country. And it sounds like Obama would probably see Iran get nukes and probably Iraq, since I believe his actual plan is to pass Iraq over as we pull out. (which, at least, is probably better than chaos, maybe). Of course Israel probably likes that whole not being dead and radioactive thing. So there is a chance they'd act unilaterally whoever becomes president. |

Hey, we can be cynical. I don't believe anything any politician says until they do it, which usually they don't. What can you do.
