You say you have watched this movie. Could you provide some clues to those who have not? When does a cell re-produce?

The documentary is about professors being fired from their positions for teaching Intelligent Design instead of Evolution.

My question deals primarily with when the first cell was (since I can't use the word created here) "hatched". The renowned Evolutionary Biologist Richard Dawkins was interviewed in the documentary. He stated that no one knows how/when the first cell came into being. Since evolution came into being from the reproduction of this first cell, it takes quite a degree of faith to believe in Evolution that simple occured from nothing. I guess that is why Evolutionary theorists react to being questioned.

Darwinists have purged universities from any type of Intelligent Design thought. They have systematically made Evolution the newest "religion" - not to be questioned. I thought science was supposed to be all about proving/disproving theories. Apparently Darwanists don't think that to be the case.

The reason some people want to believe in Intelligent Design is that they feel humans have a special place in evolution and are an "end product." The reality is that Homo sapiens' time on Earth is but an instant in the vast timeline of history and prehistory. Our effect on the Earth has been no greater than the effect of the first photosynthesizing bacterium, or of the evolution of RNA into DNA. The "theory" of Intelligent Design, if you can even call it a theory, fails to take into perspective the vast amount of time that life has existed and nature's ability to shape life.

Evolution is based on facts and evidence - Intelligent Design is based on a reluctance to take the evidence for what it is and on an insistence to make far-reaching conclusions that cannot be proven nor disproven. Such thinking belongs in the realm of philosophy, not science. Science uses theory based on proven facts - philosophy deals with the nature of humanity and our place in the universe, a realm where Intelligent Design may find a niche. However, to suggest Intelligent Design is a legitimate alternative to Evolution stinks of ignorance and shows an unwillingness to approach science without personal bias. Allowing personal beliefs to get in the way of proper interpretation is a cardinal sin in science and is the reason why Intelligent Design should not and cannot be taught in schools as an alternative to Evolution.

No son, evolution is a theory also and it should be questioned. What the Darwinists are doing is subjecting our country to falling behind the rest of the world in the field of science. You do know what we "evolved" from don't you?

You obviously didn't read my past. They are both theories; however only Evolution is scientific while Intelligent Design is philosophical. There is direct, verifiable evidence in the fossil record and in gene mapping in favor of Evolution. However, nowhere do I say that science does not question itself. The very nature of science is to continue to seek the truth, which includes trying to find evidence for and against theoretical phenomena. It just happens to be the case that no evidence against evolution has come to light. Usually when a theory goes unproven for such a long time and with such a vast depth of evidence, it usually comes to be accepted as true.

Then to further science, they both should be discussed.
