Scrub lists- A wide ranging computer search that was designed nominally to take Florida Felons off the voter rolls, but ended up (and arguably was designedto), catching huge amounts of innocent voters. I think it was around 200,000 all told (statiscally speaking) which would have otherwise delivered a 96,000 margin to Gore.

Look into the USHRC(think thats it) and you just get disgusted by the system- a tiny sample that by itself would have threatened the outcome's legitamacy and the dissenters spin itaround pure fabrication of results to make it look like White voters suffered...and then a few years later some newly appointed git is saying the dissent was the real finding, not mentioning he wasn't on the board at the time and has no idea what hes talking about...

You didn't refer to the scrub lists.

While I can'tremember the details, I'm not about to trust those results either. From the same article though-

These ballots were rejected by the machines and were considered invalid. Some Democrats say if all of Florida's overvote ballots were examined by hand to learn voters' intent, their candidate would have prevailed."

Eh, like I said, compared to the numbers and uillegality of the Scrub lists, that was a side-show.

Are you kidding me? So you basically wanted them to include ballots where the people voted twice? So to who should their vote go to, the first or second guy they chose? I mean come on! If they're too stupid to figure out that they could only vote in ONE president, we shouldn't count their votes.

As I said previously, Democrats lost 30 out of the 50 states, they only won 20 states. In the following election, they only won 19 states, In this country NY & CA don't get to determine who's president for the rest of the country.

Thanks for linking again to a post that doesn't address my points. I wasn't talking about State vs Induvidual voting power, but seeing as its supposed to be the "will of the people", not "will of the landmass" if you were a true democrat(lower case) you'd care that the votes of those in Urban areas, in this case atleast, counted for less vs their rural cousins.

Well, I know here in Palm Beach county, the third largest county in the State, we didn't use the scrub list, because our lawmakers here decided the scrub list was too unreliable. Around Dec. of 2000, they found that over 445 Felons had voted. It was too late to remove them from the tally. So much for that theory.

this is precisely the point- of those 445, most of the, quite possibly all of them would have had the right to vote, as that number could very easily represent the number of errors- doesn'taddress the higher numbers that Palast would uncover after that article...hell that was I think the 2nd one, right back in 2000.

You can't change the mind of old dogs. Most of them grews up in a racist era, and would like to maintain the status quo. So, to read anything into this would be short sighted.

You misunderstood me, it wasn't that 445 "supposed felons" were scrubbed, it was that my County, Palm Beach County, the third largest county in the state of Florida, did not use the scrub list. Later when they audited the election results, AFTER the votes had ALREADY been counted, they found there were 445 ACTUAL FELONS, (not supposed felons, remember they DIDN'T use the scrub list) votes that had been counted, and YES almost ALL voted for Gore. But their votes DID count in fact count toward the final tally.
