I've got to think you are just playing devil's advocate here. Can any American truly believe that equality of outcome trumps freedom? If you do, their are plenty of communist dictatorships in the world. Why don't you go there and experience the "equality" of universal poverty with no hope of improvement? And let me tell you something else. The concepts of freedom and individual choice are not archaic, they are recent in history. Ultimate "strong man" government control was the way for thousands of years before people were enlightened enough to realized that being bullied isn't right and we're not going to take it anymore! Equality of outcome is not a human right. Freedom is. The government, being a social construct, should never have more rights than the individuals who created it. I think you are being tongue in cheek with your comments, though. Nobody could really believe that the Orwellian government you claim to support is a good thing. It is true that our generation has seen violations of our rights by the government, but that in no way makes those rights obsolete. It means that we need to take back our government, not offer ourselves up for total enslavement to it.
