I think he will hurt Obama's chances with blacks that believe in standing on their own two feet and help his chances among those that believe they are entitled to special treatment because of past racist attitudes by whites.

Well, I am a mutt. Some black, some white, some latino, and I am sure there are a few others thrown in there too. I do not like that guy, and I have watched several of his sermons in full. I guess my ethnicity disqualifies my opinion.

I gain immediate respect for any black person who condemns wright, and there are plenty that do though a minority of the total. Juan Williams in my opinion has been on top of this from the start as well as plenty of others, pointing out that this guy is a racist evil prick who doesn't necessarily represent all blacks but unfortunately does represnt a lot of them and the dominant black culture of the moment.

Obama is doing the "wright thing" by disowning him now and saying it just the right way, music to my ears. I am gaining respect for him now that he is doing so, but it is too late to get my vote of course and I don't favor his policies anyway. Still, it says something good about Obama. He could have stuck by wright, as most blacks do, and still won the democratic nomination.
