Default Republicans unhappy with John McCain?

I have heard a number of times that many of the conservative base of the republican party are unhappy with John McCain. This always makes me laugh. Now I agree that he is certainly a moderate republican, but so were all the alternatives. Giuliani was even more liberal, and romney was as well but realized it was better for his campaign to pretend to have been a conservative the whole time.

The choice the republicans made was a spectacular choice. You picked the one guy who is going to win the general election for you. At the moment the country is unhappy with the course a republican president has taken us on(wether they are correct to be unhappy is a debate for another time). And the republicans picked a likable guy who is going to bring in independent voters who would have run away from people like romney and huckabee. So cheer up and realize you picked about the best possible candidate, and the one who is probably going to mean another 4 years of a republican president!

So why is it that conservatives are unhappy with him?

Only reason McCain won the nomination was because he was the most electable because he has been more moderate in the past. When you looked at people like Mitt and Guiliani, these guys were hardcore right-wingers.

I disagree!! Giuliani is even more liberal than mccain, but he is far less competent or likable. Romney pretended to be a conservative for the primaries, but had a history of being very liberal socially(very liberal for a republican of course).

I do agree however, that he was by far the most electable candidate they had running. The only republican I can think of who would have been a better candidate in terms of general election is chuck hagel.
