[quote=danarhea;529462]The Republican party has talked a good game about how Conservative they are supposed to be, but there is a problem. People are not defined by what they say, but by what they do. And what have today's Republicans done?

1) They have increased the size of government more than LBJ or FDR could have imagined in their wildest wet dreams.

see number 2

2) They has spent our money (that's right, your money and my money) like drunken sailors at a Thai house of prostitution.

That's right, give terrorist a chance!!

3) They have made the Federal government the nanny of us all. They seek to protect us, not just from external threats, but from ourselves as well.

I think you're at least half confussed.

4) They have gutted the Posse Comitatus Act, the Bill of Rights, and parts of the Constitution itself. Janet Reno must regard them as heros.

Sure your not talking about Tokyo-Pelosi.

5) They have created a welfare state for billionaires.

Well you don't have Buffet and Gates to kick around anymoe, they're giving away their money and who pays the most taxes for you Yahooo's.

6) They have limited the Goldwater-Reagan concept of personal freedom.

Right! Just wait for the next bomb to hit, rediculas not to monitor calls to foreign lands at this time!

7) They have limited the Goldwater-Reagan concept of personal responsibility.

And if Obama is elected, (which is the quickest way to educate you) get ready for Orders from the U.N. as we drink the lies of having tea with the radical Iranians.

eight) They have embraced the Clintonesque NAFTA, CAFTA, and GATT treaties, which have sent our jobs overseas.

Please explain how you propose to beat the prices of China, are you going to step up and go to work punching out plastic toys for .80 an hour, please answer this Gringo.

9) They have caved to Communist China. China uses the system to manipulate its currency, to the detriment of America, and today's Republicans do not hold their feet to the fire for it.

COUGH COUGH, hey there Billy Clinton, you say cave to China, ha!

10) They reward the lawbreaking of illegal immigrants by letting them go to the front of the line, in front of those who are not breaking the law, but playing by the rules.

What are you on? Who was it who wanted to recruit them as voters with full rights to SS!!

Just wanted to clarify some items that looked pretty liberal to me, thanks

This is just for starters. I could type much, much more, but you get the idea.

And the Republican party still has the gall to tell Conservatives that their party is our home? How stupid do they believe we are?

To the leadership of the Republican party - We are no longer drinking your Kool-Aid. Those of us who are not staying home will be voting Libertarian, voting Constitutionist, writing in Ron Paul, or maybe even writing in Bozo the Clown, in order to send you a message that is loud and clear. We have no home in your party this year, and next year, when we begin to take the party back, you can count on the fact that we are going to kick you and your fake Conservative ideology to the curb. Accept the changes that are coming to the party. This time, we will not be stopped. We will rebuild the party to Conservative values, and you can either be part of the solution, or you can sit on the sidelines and watch it happen. It is up to you.

Until then, Republicans........

I hereby declare the elephant dead. Say hello to your new mascot:

How did you manage to take all of the arguments against liberals and turn them into arguments against conservatives? The republican party has lost it's way, yes, but that is not a reason to crawl into a hole and die. You want to talk about them spending too much money? spending your money? Try to think about what the democrats are proposing, they know, and you know that they will have to tax every American at a rate of 50% or more, rich and poor. What is their brilliant plan? To tax big oil? That's GREAT, PERFECT! FANTASTIC! gasoline will cost 5 dollars a gallon, and Al Gore will be having wet dreams every night because people can't drive to work.

The three trillion dollar budget is a conservative number. Don't let the democrats smooth talk you or anyone else into believing that it's not. If democrats were in complete charge, that number would be 5 trillion. And don't let them boast about how much money is being spent on the war. Defense spending has gone up less than a fifth of a percent with respect to GDP since the war started.

Also, I must commend you on the rhinoceros, that's witty.

It's not hard to have such a low increase in budget after starting a war when the budget was so large and mis-managed to begin with. Take the 100 dollar hammer and 200 dollar "eye protection" in the design of stylish sunglasses my father gets on the base he is at. He is one of the ranking officials on his base and will be the first to attest the outragious spending they do so that their budget will not get cut in the following year. I guess one good thing we have to say about the war is it has made our military spend its money more efficiently now that they have something to spend it on.

Default Republican still

Some of us may not be die hard conservatives but giving Obama the chance to win this election is scary. And voting Independent or Libertarian is not gonna get you anywhere. Get real, choose or you lose. If Obama wins are you willing to pay more taxes and give the liberals the run of the white house, i dont think so... it is too risky and scary to take the chance. McCain might not be a true conservative but better him than a die hard liberal.... we have to stick together and vote Republican for the sake of our country and our children.

Because it is true, and no, the Republican party did not exactly lose its way. It was hijacked by Neocons, who use the party as its parasitic host. And who was the Neocons' mentor? None other than Irving Kristol, who was a bona fide member of the Communist party in New York, and who supported Leon Trotsky. When the Conservative wave hit America, Irving and his minions, seeing that they were about to be made irrelevant, abandoned the Communist party, and with the help of some of the writings of philosopher Leo Strauss, a pinhead elitist professor at the University of Chicago, invented Neoconservatism. They used "Conservative" in the name, but their agenda was anything but Conservative. Statism, similar to that of the Soviet System was what they wanted, along with a good dose of Socialism, and dilution of the Constitution of the United States, so that their power could be further entrenched. Ronald Reagan kept the Neocons at arm's length, and Bush's own father referred to them as "the crazies in the basement". However, Bush Jr. opened the door to them, and the rest is history. Fortunately, the Neocons are about to BE history, but the damage done to America by them will be with us for generations.

NOTE: Premium gasoline already costs over 4 dollars a gallon here in Houston, and will be 5 dollars very soon.

Why not vote for ron paul? If he ran as an independent, I would vote for him. Purely to send a signal to the republican party. If they lose by a small margin and he makes that margin up, it would send a message.

Still is kinda sad though that the only way you can send a message is by sacrificing your vote in the hope that it might make a difference 4 years later...
