Uhhh say it with me people- prefferential voting. Oh yeah!
All the little guys should get together and say nothing for the next four years bar 'prefferential voting' and 'run-offs'. Not only can you get the boot in with making your big-party of 'choice' your 2nd, 3rd prefference or w/e, you can actually make a real presence over time. I get to vote Green every four years without simultaenoulsy stabbing myself in the eye by denying myself the power of a real vote. The two big parties got around 45% here, and the Greens got 7%- ie without greens prefferences Labor wouldn't have won. No co-incidence both parties are taking climate change serioulsy and stopped with that denier stuff. As to whetehr they act on it...well I can still vote Green next time too

.
Till then, I'd suggest not 'throwing your vote away'- Nader took a beating that might have actually hurt him and his cause because of that perception of spoiling, and Clinton got in both times without 50% +1- from my perspective he didn't really win, or rather we're not sure. Sure
I'm glad he did get in, but I'm betting you aren't. Vote big party, then persue voting reform- much better to get your 2nd prefference candidate into power and then threaten to take away that support next time then trying to bargain with the guy that got in [b]without[/b[ that support/system.
Picture Ron Paul/Barr getting some airtime on McCains winning night, holding up the poll data showing he wouldn't have won without their support- "In four years we want one thing out of this president to get our continuing support for his re-election- a simple thing that he couldn't argue against- prefferential voting." Boom! Lights, camera, action!
Course it'd be better if you could do that before the election, good luck with that.
Anyway Obama 08 :P .
