Default Why I Will No Longer Support John McCain For President

Read this statement from Right Wing blogger John Hopkins on why he is no longer supporting McCain. The final straw was a series of flip flops on immigration. How do we put this? That he supported efforts to deal with the problem before he was against it, before he supported it, before he was against it, and before he supported it.

McCain's problem is quite reminiscent of the problem that another presidential candidate had in 2004 - That's right, John Kerry. His positions were never based on convictions, but on which way he thought the political winds were blowing at any given time. As a result, he lost to Bush, more on this than any other issue (and he had quite a few of them). He deserved to lose too, Just as McCain deserves to lose now.

Add to this, McCain's problem with his political compass itself. He tells everybody he is Conservative, but people are not defined by what they say, but by what they do. McCain has:

1) Worked hard to help Liberals defeat Conservatives in elections.

2) Has lied to us all on the issue of illegal immigration.

3) Was part of the infamous gang of 14, who thwarted some of Bush's Court nominations. While Bush might not be great in other areas of his presidency, his performance here was stellar. Yet McCain did all he could to derail Bush's efforts here.

4) McCain-Feingold? Enough said.

And this is just for starters. Hate to break it to you, McCain supporters, but McCain lied to you, and is still lying to you. Frankly, supporting McCain is not showing Conservatism, but aligning yourselves with the Liberals. Should he win the presidency, and if you voted for him, you will have no reason to whine about Liberals taking over. You made it happen. The alternative? Lets the Democrats have it this year, and then take back the government in 2012. At least this way, it will be done with Conservative values. And think for a minute - Obama won't be more than a one term president. Would you rather sacrifice 4 years to get your country back, or are you content to have a permanent Liberal majority? If your answer to that question is McCain, then sorry, there isn't a Conservative bone in your body, so stop lying and telling everybody about how Conservative you are, and stop lying to yourself. You are a Liberal. Live with it.

PS. Michelle Malkin also has something to say about John "Shamnesty" McCain.

Out of 300 Million people you would think we could get a good candidate

I have some of these same thoughts, and I see two choices: (1) vote for the Libertarian candidate to show my real choice, or (2) hold my nose and vote for McCain. Number 2 has the theoretical advantage of helping to defeat the Democrat. Either Dem will appoint justices and judges that will hurt America. I don't think McCain will. Also Dems will always raise your taxes and increase the size of government.

Seriously, I'm so disgusted with the choices we get every year. I think I'm just going to write myself in.

Maybe I should run for president....

With these choices I could win by a landslide.

I doubt it.

You don't seem like the type that'd be willing to lie, and whore yourself out to lobbyists... but I could be wrong.

No I wouldn't, but maybe the people would realize that the lobbyists are stupid. Or maybe I might realize the people are stupid. (I have that down solid though.... just being optimistic for once in my life)

I'll just have to become a major capitalist and make a fortune then. Then I could buy out the liberal media too.

So what if he's the worst candidate? Democrats shouldn't have control of two houses.
