I know you'd have liked the Israelis to respond peacefully in '48, '67 and 73 as well as in every following terrorist attack, but its simply not realistic. A people wont just lay down their arms and submit to being annihilated.

That is untrue. Genetic studies have proven otherwise.

Israeli Jews have only a tiny percentage of European blood -- about the same percentage of European blood as the Palestinians have Arabian Peninsula blood.

Most Israelies came from Europe after WWII. They are Ashkenazi Jews of Khazar linage and are Not senitic at all.

Only a small % of Jews in Israel are Sephardic Jews. They are the Jews who can lay claim to being semitic because their ancesters were from the land of ancient Israel.

Because they want their land back. Of course, in any legal sense, it is not their land anymore, and in fact never was. It belonged to the Ottomans. When the Ottoman Empire was dissolved after WWI, the new overlords had every right to draw up their new holdings as they saw fit. The Jews weren't completely blameless in the early turmoil, in fact they were major agitators, but the Brits eventually did carve them up their own hunk of land, and the Arabs responded by invading, and promptly got their rear ends handed to them. As terms of peace, they willfully ceded even more land to the Israelis. And now they want it back. Well, you can't have it back. It's theirs now. The sore loser crowd will try to make it seem more complicated than that, and bring up a bunch of irrelevant past grievances, but it isn't complicated. It's painfully simple. The Palestinians have no more claim to Israel than the Mexicans have to the U.S.

It's all a huge tragedy really, but one the Palestinians perpetuate themselves. It should be painfully obvious by now that they cannot win back "their" land through armed aggression (I say "aggression" and not "resistance" because I feel that's a more accurate description for indiscriminate missile attacks against civilian targets and cowardly acts of murder). Yet they stubbornly refuse to accept reality, like a bunch of overgrown children who can't let go of a grudge. Can't say I have much sympathy for them. The only sad part is that they brainwash young children with this rubbish, and they take innocent people with them before they get greased.
