Default Obama - Expert on Foreign Affairs

Obama sounds like he thinks is an expert in Foreign Affairs because he did not vote for the war. Note that he has approximately zero experience in Foreign Affairs.

He should have used this same expert judgment when selecting a pastor.

Guess it's time for me to run for President since the War did NOT get my vote either.

So, pretty much, despite overwhelming evidence that a known to be aggressive dictator in a country that was recently defeated by the US in one of its aggressive wars had WMD, Obama still did not want us to do anything about it?

Sounds pretty unexperienced to me..,

That's a Good Point. People should ask themselves, "What would you do if you were informed by the highest intelligence in the land that a foreign country had WMD and planned to use them on you?"

Some people fail to realize that there has NOT been an attack on US soil since 9/11.

And when was the last before 9/11? Was it Pearl Harbor?

Senators have foreign policy experience.

No actually people tried to bomb the WTC with a uhaul truck full of explosives during Clinton's Presidency.

By the way, could you specify what foreign policy experience Obama has?

"According to the journalist Steve Coll, Yousef mailed letters to various New York newspapers just before the attack, in which he claimed he belonged to 'Israel's Army, Fifth Battalion'.[6] These letters made three demands: an end to all US aid to Israel, an end to US diplomatic relations with Israel, and a demand for a pledge by the United States to end interference "with any of the Middle East countries' interior affairs." He stated that the attack on the World Trade Center would be merely the first of such attacks if his demands were not met. In his letters Yousef admitted that the World Trade Center bombing was an act of terrorism, but that this was justified because "the terrorism that Israel practices (which America supports) must be faced with a similar one.""

This was because of America's policy on Israel (which remains the way it is partially because of such attacks). Now let's look at the war in Iraq. Iraq and Iran are the only major arab countries that have a Shiite majority. Iraq was in the power of the Sunni. The Sunnis persecuted the Shiite, which upset other Shiite powers like Iran (and we all know what Iran thinks about Israel....*cough* stinking corpse *cough*). So now, with Iran's enemy knocked off the map (cound familiar?) in Israel, they can focus all on their concentrated power and potential warfare on Israel. Now remember the WTC bombing? They didn't like Israel too much, either. So, in reality, we strengthened them. Is it possible that the reason they haven't bombed us again is because, in a way, we HELPED them? It sure seems so.

With Obama's foreign policy experience, what does the Senate do?

What foreign policy experience does McCain have?

(Not defending Obama. Just questioning the unquestioned.)

Well to be fair, correct me if I am wrong, but he WAS on the senate armed service committe, no?

His veteran status and his POW story makes people have no doubt that he is an expert on foreign affairs. If you say he is not, you are deemed unpatriotic and unamerican.

He said we are down to the number of troops we had before the surge. Nope, not even close. By ALL estimates, he's way off.

What good is experience if your judgement is a failure?

Experience is supposed to influence judgement, but in McCain's case, his experience has no effect on his judgment.

In Obama's case, he exhibited better judgement while having less experience.

Experience without judgement in itself is nothing.

He likes to eat Taco Bell, Chinese food and once had an extra-marital affair with a cute little Hungarian girl.

His father is from Kenya... or... Hawaii... Or something like that. Obama's childhood is an enigma. Even more reason to vote for McCain.
