Why yes, they are. American actions have nothing to do with it. Let's keep it simple. If you deem something to be bad, liberals are at fault. Now we can move on to actual topics. Yes, they are at fault. My car was leaking water the other day. It was the liberal's fault. But we all know that, so there's no point in beating a dead horse (which, of course, the liberals killed in the first place).

Half of America is liberal. America was founded on liberal principles. When you insult liberals, you're insulting America, same as you are if you insult conservatives.

When someone complains about "America bashing," I think what they're really saying is that they've cut America in half. There's the half they like (which they call "America") and there's the half they don't like (generally everything that doesn't resemble The Dukes of Hazzard). If someone insults George Bush, that seems like America-bashing to them because he's in the half of America that they like. If someone insults John Kerry, that's a good thing to them because, although he's just as American as George Bush, they don't like him and therefore he isn't really American in their eyes.

Actually, it's not really a matter of insults, though. 'Cause insulting Americans of any stripe is, by definition, anti-American. What people usually seem to mean when they complain of "America bashing" is "criticizing a government administration run by the party of my preference."

And criticizing government is as American as it gets. So I don't get it.

The principles that America was founded on, such as federalism, freedom, and natural rights, are the principles held by the conservatives in America. Liberals tend to argue that necessity and modern life override these principles.

That's simply because we have twisted and devalued the definitions of those two words till they have become as confusing as hell. I mean, President Bush isn't exactly what I would call fiscally conservative; and many of the principles you talk about--natural rights, for instance--have been destroyed by religious extremists under the guise of conservatism. Not to mention all the Democrats who claim fake-liberal agendas, and then pander to whatever has opposable thumbs and can vote.
