Default Why did the right lose the trust of the American people?

Something that has become clear over the past few years is that the right in government is now much less supported then before ( evidence can be found in the congressional losses.) Well thats all really obvious but the real question is what did the right do to lose the confidence and trust of the American people. And perhaps most importantly has or is the left doing anything more or more efficiently? I would like to hear what you think about this.

I think Iraq has a whole lot to do with it really. There are economic issues. But the mortgage thing isn't the rights fault.

What makes you think that the people trust the left any more than the right?

I think many people just vote for the one they think will screw them the least.
Between social programs that I think are just plain wrong, laws passed that open the way to removal of our rights, and the blantant mismanagement of government, I don't trust either of them to lead America out of a paper bag.

Idiotic Americans thought that the right, the small government ones, would be a better choice for big government. It turns out that big government doesn't work out for the people that well. The worst thing is that Democrats such as Obama are trying to pass themselves off as the new small government party, against the corruption and corporatism of the Bush government, while they know very well that they wish to expand the role of government even farther than the Republicans.

Default They promised a bunch of reform and good government...

...in 2000, and once in, they did everything possible against it.

What lies?

"Why did the right lose the trust of the American people?"

they didn't. they (the right) never had it. The GOP did and they sold out to the right.
