Ohio judge: State must change lethal injection law

Hmm....I wonder which way this judge leans politically???

For anyone who thinks lethal injection hurts, I can ask only one question? Have you ever had major surgery? I was ejected from a vehicle during an accident and subsequently had a 22,000 lb truck run over my foot and leg at 50 mph on the interstate. I was lucky no one else hit me, but I know surgery. They opened up my foot and leg like the pages of a cheap paperback novel. I didn't wake up and I sure didn't feel a darn thing. The worst part was they took my glasses, I am myopic. They had a hoop to keep the bed covers from touching my feet so when I woke up and looked under, I couldn't tell if there was one or two, lower legs that is, they told me there was a slim chance I would keep that leg. I was too groggy to raise up and touch it, so I started barking for the nurse. She couldn't find my glasses, it ended with a simple question. I lifted the covers and said how many feet do you see, one or two. When she said two I went right back to sleep. If they could put that many pins, screws and metal plates in my leg and I didn't feel a darn thing, how can they say lethal injection is painful? They give you five times the pain killer I received.

Actually there are plenty of cases of the sedative injection not working and the prisoner being basically tortured as the toxin slowly kills him, sometimes taking hours to do so, I think the lethal injection should be classified as the cruel and unusual punishment as defined in the Constitution.

I mean the guys who do the injection aren't even medical practitioners, most are prison employees, guards or the like, so that accounts for alot of the injections missing the vein or simply just messing up the process and turning the execution into a atrocious thing to watch.

i live in ohio,
and i think we should skip the 'painful' injections,
and just shoot them in the head

Um, that would be quick and painless wouldn't it?

I oppose the death penalty, but if they are going to make it legal, I can't see what would be wrong with using a firing squad.
