Default Republicans Face an Uphill Battle

It looks like I was wrong, when I said that Congress was responsible for the latest increases in Gas and Oil, it's the Democrats in Congress that have given Congress a bad name. Republicans are facing an uphill battle to save the U.S. Economy and the U.S. Consumer's wallets and Bank accounts, but the Democrats are fighting them tooth and nail.

Save the US economy for whom? Certainly not for ordinary working Americans, if all the Republicans want to do is 'save' the investors and speculators from their own ineptitude and reckless capitalist practices then why should anyone help them?

Oh, but it's all for the sake of the environment, of course.

Like that is somehow more important than human lives in underdeveloped countries.

Cheap oil = higher standard of living for the poor around the world

Expensive oil = starvation for the poorest of the poor

Nothing that Republicans have proposed would drastically change the price of oil.

That's funny, because the poor have been living on the brink of abject poverty and starvation for decades now when oil was abundant, the only people who got rich were the transnational elites.

Standard of living in Africa has been steadily getting better for quite some time. Now however, the oil crisis is causing food prices to sky rocket, leading to more starvation, hunger, and poverty.

Can you deny that?

Yeah, but low energy prices at least kept food prices low so they can eat. They can't even do that now.

Keep in mind that almost all the people who live "on the brink of abject poverty" as you say, live in areas of the world where the leaders take everything for themselves. You don't see people in the U.S. or even in Europe living in those kinds of conditions.
