Default blindness vs fear

The Republicans would love for us to put our blinders on and go ahead and agree with everything they tell us all to think, trusting that everything always turns out alright in the end. At the same time, the Democrats would love for us to be frightened of the right wing conspiracy enough to vote them into power so they can advance their compromised agendas.

Well, if it's true that we are what we believe then that should tell yu that you are too cynical to believe in anything.

I say that republicans always fall on the side of hope while democrats like to scare everyone away from their hopes, dreams & freedoms. If what you believe is any indication of future events then it's all in which way your looking. Outlook plus God = hope & success.

This is a good example of political nonsense. It can't be proven or disproven, but it will persuade the more simple-minded Americans.

If it is true that Democrats (Kerry) tend to focus on the negatives, I would think that this is in the interest of fixing ailments that impede America in its struggle for betterment. Simply skipping along blindly and ignoring what doesn't fit one's perspective is a sure way to crash and burn.

Anyway, your belief that God must be part of an equation that produces success only shows the hypocrisy that characterizes most Republicans. Our founding fathers were very adamant about the dreams and freedoms that could be realized in America, wouldn't you say? Well, they also specifically excluded the recognition of religion in government. Why do you suppose this is? Because they saw what it did in Europe with the inquisition and other brutal practices of the church.

Now I think religion is an important part of many people's lives, but when is the religious right going to stop trying to force their fundamentalist beliefs on the rest of us?

We Republicans don't just "skip along" ignoring all of our problems, we simply deal with them in a positive, optomistic manner. Also, I'm not cristian, I am Hindu, the point is that not all republicans are fundamental Cristains. The reason we hear Republicans bring up Cristianity so much is because, like almost all other religions(this one just happens to be the majority in america) Cristianity teaches morals, morals like not stealing or killing others (Don't start with me about iraq ok, think about it so i don't have to type out another reply).

Also, just because most Republicans are Christian doesn't mean that we are going to try to move the pope over here so that our religion will fully dominate our government.

Sorry to break the lovefest - But I voted Democrats

Because I don't think there is anything more pessimistic then a party calling any indiviual unpatriotic simply because they don't approve of their leader, specifically with regards to the war in Iraq.

Suggesting that there was no other way to rid the world of Saddam, IMO - is the very definition of a pessimist

Default freedom

The republicans have been optimists, the party represents something vastly beyond itself, hope and freedom for all peoples of all cultures of all races

I'm sorry, but this question was not "which party do you belong to." Pessimism is an outlook on life, not a course of action. Optimists see things in a more positive light than pessimists. While conservatives stress what is good with the nation, liberals stress what is wrong.
