Default I am not for Socialized Health Care, But

We as Americans are being duped by Pharmaceutical Companies who funnel money through lobbyists to your congresmen and women to get tax dollars for research that they use to develop drugs they sell to us (U.S. citizens) at full retail, while Canada, France, and other nations with socialized health care do not have to fund the research through taxes, and get a break on prices because all of the drugs used in the country are bought by one entity in large bulk! They negotiate discounts that we, the producing country who funded the research used to develop the drugs, do not get!

This should be addressed!

Sorry for the run on sentence!

Sorry, but what exactly are you opinioning against? That US pharmaceutical companies get tax breaks and/or subsidies, which is of course against the WHO rules? Or that big buyers of products get discounts? Or just that drug prices in the US are high?

I thought it was rather obvious that I am protesting the fact that AMericans are screwed by the process. Basically we pay much more for our own products than other nations do!

You know the obvious fix to this? Eliminate the privitization of health care.

But no. Socialism in ANY form whatsoever is teh devil to you right-wingers as it infringes on the holiness of pure capitalism you seem so devoted to.

I don't know, I think we can place strings attached to research funds. If American Taxpayer funds develop the drug, AMerican Taxpayers get a certain price break!

That would be fair. They don't agree to the terms, they don't get our tax dollars!

Maybe I am not opining against any of your categories, because I am not interested in your agenda, only my own point that AMericans are screwed by the current process.

Thanks

WHy not just have 1 required health care coverage that does the basics plus minor surgery; while there is a secondary string that is optional but covers everything else?
