Bin Laden has become a significant moral challenge to Muslims. His alleged association with the perpetrators of 9/11 attacks raises a major question about the relationship between Islam and terrorism. If he is guilty then he incriminates the faith of Islam by using it as a motivation and justification for his actions. If he is innocent, then why is he such a big hero?

Just wanted to comment on why I started this thread:



First; to address these questions from these two and other assorted fear-mongers such as FreedomSeeker:

To which one replied "I'm not impressed", and the others just ignored the evidence presented to them.
Apparently word from The House of Mohammed is not "impressive" enough ...So I had to go find somebody else.




Second; To lay our cards on the table.. especially the muslims in PF. So we all know where we all stand.
Make no mistake: UBL/AQ declared war on and is the enemy of the United States of America. So chose carefully in the poll.




Third; Barney-Fife. He is religous and conservative and we locked horns plenty of times
He is a good guy and I wish his son the best during his stint in the USMC.
edit I was gonna say I miss him.. but that sounds gay so forget it.

USA did great harms to muslims, for sure, but I can't recall anything against islam. Al Quaeda in the other hand, did harm islam so much. it almost destroyed the face of the religion of peace.

There is a popular saying in Islam, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". UBL has done more to harm Islam than anything George Bush or the US have done by far. Because UBL has declared war on the US, he has brought the wrath of the most powerful people on Earth upon those who are his would be supporters.

And for those who consider themselves supporters of UBL allow me to express an equally poignant observation; "The friend of my enemy is my enemy".

UBL is not so much a Hero for Islam and it may quite well be that he is the catalyst for its ultimate and well deserved demise.

I'd say neither really. The US isn't going after Islam. For every country we're invading/leaning on there are a couple others we're propping up. And locally we're trying to increase mutual respect and understanding.

As for Osama he isn't an "enemy" of Islam. He's probably gimped some of its ability to spread. But on the other hand a lot of the stuff he's stirred up has kept the US busy allowing things like the genocide in Darfur of Africans by Muslims that want their land to go largely unchecked.

Also if/when we elect Obama it sounds like deals may be cut with Iran that and negotiations had that wouldn't have come about with all this.

UBL obviously b/c even if you think America has harmed islam you can fault UBL for that b/c he brought the attacks on. Without UBL the US wouldn't be having a war on terror. Plus UBL has destroyed Islam itself.
