Well despite the ad-hominem attacks against me that are completely unnecessary I will just give up on this thread because it seems you are mistaking classical liberalism with contemporary liberalism so the question of going back to school really should be placed upon yourself.

By the way, when I debate on this forum, I don't take sides I don't believe in. So because I was able to show that the IRA and Hamas (or Fatah or the PLO) are very dissimilar to the colonial militias, doesn't "score me points." It just shows that your quotation of a yahoo website with 1 TOTAL vote was both misleading and based off of a naive sense of history. Good job.

Of course the founders were “classic” liberals. They also were “classic” conservatives.

The liberalism of the founding days has no correlation with what is called liberal today. Today’s so called liberal is a leftist BIG government communist, touting the ideas of collectivity, redistribution of wealth by government force. The classic liberal espoused the conservative idea of “LIMITED” government, thereby fostering maximum freedom/liberalism. By the very same ideology the idea of limited governance is a very, very classic “conservative” idea since it places conservative limits on government which in turn allows for maximum freedom/liberalism.

Classic liberalism is only realized by classic conservatism, and classic conservatism guarantees classic liberalism. They are the finest of bedfellows. They together are the two sides of the same coin. They are the natural bookends. They are synonymous one with the other. They’re love and marriage, you can’t have one without the other.
