It's fear-mongering, but it is fear-mongering through symbology using real stances and implying through exaggeration.
It's not in any way doing service to politics... but it is at least based in reality.

Claiming complete BS like Obama being Muslim or anti-Israel in order to scare the Jewish population- that is total garbage with no basis in reality.

Frankly I'd like to see both techniques denounced... and I'd like to see the stupid PAC orgs responsible shut up, but the latter is obviously far worse than the former.
The former is politics as usual. The latter steps it up a few notches.

I don't think it's McCain's job to denounce them though... I think people should simply not be so naive and manipulated... and PACs not so blatantly dishonest.
Even if McCain did speak out, the people who believe this crap would continue believing it because they want to.

Fearmongering, anyone?

And is it fearmongering to act like we would actually be fighting a war for 100 years were the drafted babies of today would be killed rather than just keeping troops there?

McCain said we could be in Iraq for 100 years. He said it.
If an ad was done like this against obama you would cry racism to the bank. i'm not crying b/c i realize moveon just helps mccain b/c they are left wing nuts who are always exposed. how well did moveon do against bush in 2004?

there won't be a draft b/c congressman would do b/c they would lose reelection.

mccain said 100 years only like korea and germany with basis not fighting a war and he sad that at the time and you know that.

stop lying about mccain.

I have an idea, how about the media refuse to air 527 or PAC ads? Problem is MSNBC (the all obama network) airs that moveOn ad all the time.

If the TV media refused them, we'd simply see them crop up more on YouTube.
YouTube seems to be their main breeding ground... and there's no accountability whatsoever for that medium.

but most of the videos go from youtube to television and that is how they reach the masses and effect elections, if it was only on youtube then only people who look up youtube would be persuaded and those people that look for campaign 527 on youtube are probably partisans anyway.

Is it fearmongering to say that there will HAVE to be a draft if McCain keeps troops in Iraq for 100 years, and continues the war in Afghanistan and the war-to-be in Iran?

Are you DOUBTING that we will be at war with Iran by election time?

What's your problem with free speech?

Is it the freedom?

Biden maybe. Webb or Hagel- suicide.

Keep in mind the trouble with Clinton's supporters. They'll come around... but I don't think a pro-life VP will help matters.
doh ja, I forgot about those dems. Hmm, I'll stick with my picks anyway.
Exciting.. waiting to hear which VPs the candidates will choose. I wouldn't mind hearing about cabinet secretary picks also before I decide on who to vote for.
