Default Another Ignorant Anti War Democrat Claims That He Supports The Troops.

Democrat Congressman Tim Mahoney (FL-16): Honoring Those Who Defended the Soviet Union [Updated]
Submitted by Jeff Emanuel on Mon, 06/30/2008 - 2:02pm.
http://jeffemanuel.net/democrat-cong...litary-service

Tim Mahoney, freshman Democrat Congressman from Florida, really, really loves the troops. Remember last March, when he responded to questions about whether or not the 'surge' in Iraq would work by famously saying "So what"? Well, forget it -- Tim Mahoney loves the troops, and don't you dare think otherwise.

“Mahoney loves the troops so much that neither he nor his staff could tell the difference between an American veteran and a former soldier in Stalin's Red Army.”

He loves them so much that he wants every person in his district to know how much he loves, and honors, the efforts, dedication, and sacrifices of those who defend our freedom.

He loves them so much that he recently sent out a taxpayer-funded mailpiece titled "Honoring Those Who Defend Our Freedom" (viewable here in .pdf form, and here with Staff Advisory Opinion attached).

Bahh, more support the troops crap. It's a tiresome bumper sticker slogan that makes me not care anymore.

Just to be different I want to see a politician have the slogan " *MOD EDIT FOR RULES INFRACTION the Troops" just to shake things up a bit without pandering to the crowd.

That's about right. I'm a communist, nazi, anarchist seeking to implement the remains of Che Guevara and Hitler as the new leader of the United States.

Here's how Republicans "support the troops". They just add it to their tv ads. They vote against the troops, but claim they "support the troops". It's just another Republican hyprocrite. It's just another Republican lying.

Here's Republican Senator Jim Inhofe....

Wake up Oklahoma! It's way passed time to make a small effort to know the facts. Did you get the part about making a effort? Are you willing to spend just five minutes learning the truth, the real truth, the documented public record truth? Do you even care what the truth is?

This November Senator Jim Inhofe needs to be fired!

Vote for anyone other than Jim Inofe and you'll be performing a great service to America, to Oklahoma, to our environment, to our troops. You do "support the troops" don't you? Well, supporting the troops involves more than wearing a "made in China" flag lapel pin. It involves more than puffing up your chest and saying, "I support the troops". Sometimes it takes action. This November take the action to really support the troops and fire Jim Inhofe. He deserves it.

Supporting the troops starts with not sending them into harm's way in a war born from 100% false claims. But once the troops are committed into battle, supporting the troops is no longer just a Republican phrase, it's something as Americans we have a moral obligation to perform. That involves giving them the the best leadership, the best equipment, the best armor, the best weapons we can obtain. It means when we have a chance to supply them with the best equipment, we do it. You probably agree with that. Jim Inhofe doesn't. Jim Inhofe failed the troops. He's failed them over and over when it counted. He's consistant on that. He hopes you won't be paying attention.

He's never failed to support cutting taxes for Americans earning over $1 million a year, or handing out billions of dollars in tax credits to big oil companies that are massive contributors to his campaign, but he's failed to to cast his vote for our troops and veterans. He's done that over and over. If you have a sense of decency you'll vote for anyone other than Jim Inhofe this November and fire him.

Not only has Jim Inhofe failed to support the troops when it counted, he's now actually claiming in his television campaign ads that he does "support the troops". It's a lie, a shameful lie. His voting record is not subject to "misinterpretation". It's either a "yes" or a "no" vote when it really counts. It's public record. But Senator Inhofe hopes he knows his constituents well enough to count on them to remain ignorant about what he's really done. Ignorance is a choice, and he hopes you'll chose to not make the effort to learn what he's really done.

Is he right?

It's shameful to not actually support our troops in a war. It's despicable to claim you're a big supporter of the troops when you've repeatedly taken direct action to harm them. Is that the kind of person you respect and admire? Is that the kind of person that actually represents you? Is that the kind of person you think deserves to receive your support and vote?

Here's your chance. It will take five minutes. Do you care enough about the truth to invest five minutes?

Its easy to make a smear when he votes down lageslation that he opposes in advocasy of better legeslation that does more! The fact that democrats come out with a bill that claims to do obvious good doesent mean that there isnt another bill out that does the same yet goes about it a better/more efficent way.
