Usually, i'm the type of person who doesn't care about politics and could care less about who's going to be president as long as Bush is out of office, but now I've thought more about it and I did some reading on past wars and such. I've noticed alot of similarities throughout wars and how money seems to get into alot of it. And the sad part is that most Americans don't seem to care because we have more important things to do like watch tv, movies, or other types of entertainment. Which is EXACTLY what the government wants from us. They want us to be distracted by entertainment so they can take over other things and slowly take our rights from us. Like the homeland security? which is the right to search your house without a warrent and you don't even have to be home. They can also arrest you and even torture you all because they're suspicious that you might be a terrorist. Thats sounds so American doesn't it? Many of us didn't even talk about the war in the middle east until the 9 11 attack which is still known to be plotted. And I kind of agree because many of us didn't want nothing to do with the war and after that attack you see people supporting and trying to donate money. And honestly, what is the purpose of it?.. there is none. This is just a never ending war so they can take the money out of our pockets. Just like they did with Vietnam, that's why it lasted so long. I think that all of this is rediculous and people need to learn to stand up and stop believing everything you're told. We need to have a mind of our own and if we stop being brainwashed and start thinking like actual human beings, we can stop all of this. And until we do, nothing is going to get any better. Until our power of love overcomes the love of power we will not be at peace.

If you want to fix this problem, vote for Ralph Nader or Ron Paul, if Paul is allowed to be written in on the ticket, and we'll soon find out.

A vote for good government can only come if you get rid of the corporate picks, Obama and McCain. Go third party any way you like, but so long as you don't vote for the corporate given two.

It's not the "government". It's some people. These people are always going to be their. People who have a view of authoritarian government, people who are opportunists, people will break the rules to do what they feel needs to be done. Or a combination of above. These factors work together to produce some negative results. The key point is it's not a conspiracy. These people all believe that they individually are doing the right thing, They don't get together and plot how they are going to turn the US in a fascist states. Instead they get into power, or are allowed to do what they want, because things like 9/11 occur and people get scared.

The big difference between Bush's war on terror and the Vietnam war is....OIL.

OIL seems to be worth threatening American citizens with non-existant WMD's as Bush and Cheney clearly did.

Records: Senators who OK'd war didn't read key report

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A new biography of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has once again raised the issue of whether members of Congress read a key intelligence report before the 2002 vote to authorize war in Iraq.

Clinton did not read the 90-page, classified National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq, according to "Her Way: The Hopes and Ambitions of Hillary Rodham Clinton."

For members of Congress to read the report, they had to go to a secure location on Capitol Hill. The Washington Post reported in 2004 that no more than six senators and a handful of House members were logged as reading the document.

The Clinton biography, written by New York Times reporters Jeff Gerth and Don Van Natta Jr., summarizes the intelligence estimate, which combined reports of U.S. intelligence agencies about Iraq.

Clinton, a New York Democrat, was briefed on the intelligence report multiple times, a spokesperson told CNN.

Clinton is one of six presidential candidates who were in the Senate in October 2002 who voted for the resolution to authorize the invasion of Iraq.

You mean all those Democrats who voted for the war didn't read the Confidential Intel report? I thought that was the checks and balances in government?

Hate to break it to you, Professor, but the intel was cooked due to constant pressure on the CIA and foreign governments by Cheney and Libby. They wanted a certain result s, they got it, and it turned out to be baloney.

Does it prove that Bush and Cheney didn't actually do what we all know they did?

Get a life and quit using the Clintons and others as an excuse to explained away Bush and Cheney's many murderous screwups.
