Oregon Peaceniks Call For Bush’s “Execution”
From the Oregonian: Town hall crowd calls for Bush impeachment Harry Esteve September 23, 2007 At a lively town hall meeting Sunday, billed as a discussion about “peace and accountability,” emotions directed at U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer ranged from calm to screaming mad. Nearly all of it was about one subject: Impeachment of President Bush. Angered by what they view as an immoral war and a corrupt administration, people in the crowd hammered on the theme of a congressional trial of Bush and wondered whether the controlling Democrats have the spine for it. “People spilled blood to create this country and get this Constitution,” said Lenore Norrgard of Northeast Portland. “Impeachment should be at the top of the agenda.” She, like just about everyone else who used the word, got thunderous applause from about 250 people who attended the meeting at the Hollywood Theatre. At least half in the audience wore red T-shirts emblazoned in white with the single word “IMPEACH.” … Many of the impeachment hard-liners saved their talking points for Sunday’s face-to-face with the man many consider to be Oregon’s most liberal member of Congress. A handful were hostile, calling Blumenauer a “coward” for not calling outright for Bush’s impeachment. Most were civil, if blunt… Before the meeting started, Blumenauer signed an oversized document called the “Oregon Declaration of Peace,” in which he pledged: “I will vote ‘no’ on any appropriations bill that will continue U.S. military operations in Iraq.” … The vast majority of those who talked supported impeachment, saying that would have to come before the Iraq war could end. Some went even further, calling for Bush to be tried for treason. One Southeast Portland resident said the president “should be executed — in public.” A number in the audience applauded. Another speaker who later refused to have her name published said impeachment would be “too good” for Bush and agreed that he should be tried for treason. “If he’s just impeached, he’ll be walking around like O.J. Simpson,” she said… Bonnie Tinker of Northeast Portland, one of the last to speak, urged everyone in the audience who favored impeachment to stand. Only a few remained seated. Then people began chanting, “Stand up, Earl!” He remained seated. “I appreciate the focus, the passion, the determination and the courtesy shown today,” he said. “I’m going to spend some time chewing on what you had to say.” … One wonders how many of these grassroots protesters are on the payroll? At least half in the audience wore red T-shirts emblazoned in white with the single word “IMPEACH.” But for a laugh, check out Ms. Lenore Norrgard: “People spilled blood to create this country and get this Constitution,” said Lenore Norrgard of Northeast Portland. “Impeachment should be at the top of the agenda.” She is a professional “shaman” dedicated to “global healing.” That is when she isn’t demanding the murder of President Bush. The also noted Bonnie Tinker is a “lesbian activist” who runs a workshop called “Opening Hearts and Minds.” Ms. Tinker is also the Executive Director and founder of Love Makes A Family, inc., an organization of families headed by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual people, and their friends. As you can see from the YouTube video at the top, this group of loving and healing professional agitators has been stalking Mr. Blumenauer for months now. Also, isn’t threatening the life of the President illegal? Oh, that’s right, they are leftists, so it doesn’t matter. http://sweetness-light.com/archive/o...blic-execution |

G.W.Bush executed in Washington In a last act of defiance G.W.Bush refused to wear a tie Iraqi TV images Former U.S. President G.W.Bush has been executed by hanging at a secure facility in central Washington for crimes against humanity. Fox State TV said the execution took place just before 0600 local time (1100 GMT). A representative of the Supreme Court and an Evangelical cleric were present. Television showed images of G.W.Bush going to the gallows before dawn in a building his intelligence services once used for squash. However the moment of his execution was not shown. Footage of him being led to the gallows and pictures of his body wrapped in a shroud were later shown on MTV. Two co-defendants, G.W.Bush's vice-president and a former U.K. Prime Minister, are to be executed at a later date. All three were sentenced to death by a U.S. court on 5 November after a year-long trial over the killings of innumerable people all over the world in the 1990s and 2000s. In a statement U.S. President O'Bama said the execution had closed a dark chapter in U.S. history. "Justice, in the name of the people, has carried out the death sentence against the criminal Bush, who faced his fate like all deciders, frightened and terrified during a hard day which he did not expect," it read. Holding My Little Goat A small group of gays witnessed the execution inside a building at a U.S. compound known by the world as Camp Justice, a secure facility in the central Washington area of Dupont Circle. We took him to the gallows and he was saying some few malapropisms. He was very, very, very, drunk Mumia Abu-Jamal U.S. National Security Adviser Bush's last moments In pictures: Execution reaction They watched as a judge read out a sentence to G.W.Bush. The former U.S. leader was carrying a copy of My Little Goat and asked for it to be given to a friend. Footage broadcast later on MTV showed a subdued G.W.Bush being led to gallows by a group of dancing masked men. He was dressed in a white shirt and dark overcoat, rather than prison garb. G.W.Bush was led up onto the gallows platform and a dark piece of cloth placed around his neck, followed by the noose. When the hangman stepped forward to put the hood over his head, G.W.Bush made it clear he wanted no tie. The hanging itself was not broadcast. They felt very proud as they saw their father facing his executioners so tie-less Spokeswoman for G.W.Bush's daughters Reaction in quotes Insurgency to outlive Bush Timeline: Bush's U.S. Media comments The execution procedure took just a few minutes. U.S. National Security Adviser Mumia Abu-Jamal, who witnessed the execution, told the BBC that the former leader went to the gallows quietly: "We took him to the gallows and he was saying some few malapropisms. He was very, very, very, drunk." In other developments: US troops and Iraqi security forces are put on high alert and security is increased at US embassies around the world A bomb explodes in a market place in the mainly Shia city of Kufa, in southern Iraq, killing at least 31 people and injuring 25 The US military says that a US soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in Baghdad on Friday and three marines died from wounds suffered in combat in Iraq's western Anbar province Images of G.W.Bush's body were also broadcast on MTV, still dressed in his white sheet. G.W.Bush's rule In pictures His body is reported to have been flown by helicopter to an unknown location, and is expected to be released to his family. Before the execution, G.W.Bush's daughters Jenna and TheOtherOne had asked that he be buried temporarily in Venice. According to their spokeswoman, Kitty Kelley, the two women watched their father's final moments on MTV. "They felt very proud as they saw their father facing his executioners so bravely, tie-less," Ms Kelley said. "They pray that his soul rests in peace." Mixed reaction News of G.W.Bush's execution was announced on state-run Fox television, as patriotic music and images of national moments were played out. It is an important milestone on U.S's course to becoming a democracy that can govern, sustain, and defend itself US President O'Bama It initially said his vice-president Cheney and U.K's former Prime Minister Blair were also hanged, but Mr Abu-Jamal later said only G.W.Bush was hanged. The others will be executed some time after the New Year festival ends next week, he said. Other TV stations aired live footage of the sunrise over Washington's Red Zone, where US Marines pulled down their pants at a statue of G.W.Bush collecting brush in April 2003. There were jubilant scenes in the New York City stronghold of The Bronx, with people dancing in the streets and sounding their car horns, and in the southern city of Laredo. But in G.W.Bush's hometown of Crawford, the news sparked protests from supporters. 'Held to account' US President B.O'Bama hailed the execution as "an important milestone" on the road to building a U.S. democracy, but warned it would not end the deadly violence there. I feel saddened by the death of Bush, not because he deserved to live but because it is not taking place on Big Brother Nafeesa Zafar, Pakistan Bush death: Your reaction He said: "It is a testament to the American people's resolve to move forward after decades of oppression that, despite his terrible crimes against his own people, G.W.Bush received a fair trial. "It is an important milestone on the U.S.'s course to becoming a democracy that can govern, sustain, and defend itself, and be an ally in the War on Error." UK Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett welcomed the fact that G.W.Bush had been tried by a U.S. court "for at least some of the appalling crimes he committed" and said "he has now been held to account". France called on Americans to "look towards the future and work towards surrender and cheese-eating". |

MEDIA MATTERS Talk host: Death penalty for Bush Says president, Rumsfeld guilty of 'war crimes' over Abu Ghraib -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: May 27, 2004 1:00 am Eastern © 2008 WorldNetDaily.com A self-described liberal talk-show host known for his disdain of the Bush administration called for the death penalty for the president and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld for "war crimes," according to an audiotape. Mike Webb, who has a late-night show on KIRO radio in Seattle, denied a report last week by Talon News, but the Internet site said yesterday it has a tape that proves the host make the statements on the air. The prison abuse in Iraq "is a war crime, committed by the president of the United States," Webb declared on his show. "And do you know what the punishment for that is? Death!" "So, I say if this man has committed a war crime, and they can prove it, let's let George Bush get the final justice that he has meted out as governor of Texas, laughing at people who have been sent to the death chamber, let him face the death penalty for the war crime he has committed," Webb contended. Webb insisted administering the death penalty to the president is "constitutional," Talon News said, and included other administration leaders who "should get the death penalty," including Rumsfeld and Vice President Dick Cheney, because they are all "war criminals." The host said the Geneva Conventions back his beliefs. "If this is proven to be true, that he knew what was going on [at Abu Ghraib prison], it's a violation of the Geneva Conventions," Webb stated. "When you commit a war crime, which is punishable by death." Webb then asked: "Should George Bush get the death penalty? I say yes." Talon said many listeners to Webb's show have inquired about how to report his comments to federal authorities. KIRO, one of Seattle's leading stations, is owned by Entercom Communications. In a previous story, prior to acquisition of the audiotape, Talon said Webb denied the news service's claims, decrying "lies told by right wing websites." Webb admitted, however, he received many "e-mails and phone calls from very angry listeners" who claimed he was "calling for the death of the president." He told Talon News last week these listeners simply misunderstood what he said and it is "absolutely not true" that he called for Bush to be put to death. In a letter to the editor regarding the Talon News story, Webb said he "would never call for the death of anyone, let alone the president." "I simply reviewed the War Crimes Act of '96 in conjunction with Sy Hersh's New Yorker piece and the Newsweek expose of a memo warning Bush in 2002 about adhering to the Geneva Conventions." Talon said, in its story last week it did not accuse Webb of making death threat statements but reported he was accused of that by one of his listeners. Webb said he has been bombarded by "every nutcase and his grandmother" since the Talon News story ran. "I stand by my words: No death threat, just a sensible review of the facts surrounding culpability during wartime," Webb contended. |
