Default Federer v Nadal: The greatest match ever?

Having just seen Nadal conquer Federer at Wimbledon, I think I have witnessed the best match of all time.

YES !!!!

7 hours of (rain-delayed) heaven! I was cheering for Rafa all the way. YAY

9 - 7 in the fifth. Certainly the most wonderful tennis match I've ever had the pleasure of staying up all night to watch.

Great time to be in Spain - first Euro 2008 and now Nadal with back-to-back slam tournaments.

TENNIS IS KING

It was wonderful, and also a 14 yrs old British girl who was unseeded I think won the junior title.

Any match in which Federer loses is a good match.

Watch the game, did you Miss Mak?? Play tennis, do you?

For your information, Roger played his heart out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is a great champion and a credit to this fantastic sport.

It takes two talented players to contribute to a match of this quality and mocking either one of them suggests you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

Excuse my tone, but honestly ..........................................

Wimbelden is on too late for me to watch, but I do like the tennis.
Lleyton Hewitt and Lindsay Davenport are my faves.

Can't stand Federer, he is far too smug for my liking...

Nooooooooose. I don't watch tennis but I was going for Federer the whole 7 hours

I guess he's only good at ace'ing his server and the backhand or whatever...he seemed to be throwing the ball out of bounds too much. Nadal was an overall better player, I guess.

Good game overall though.

Great match, also pulled for Nadal as Federer does have a smugness about him in several interviews I've seen.

No argument here with this being the best match ever. I was on the edge of my seat for the whole match. I made everyone in the room watch the whole match I was so hooked on it.

I was rooting or Federer the whole time but the match was so great by the time he lost I wasn't even mad bc the tennis match itself was such a great thing to behold. I felt like I was watching a part of history the whole time.

It's his smugness I hate. It's like he's gotten this huge ego from winning so many matches he expects to win when he plays.
