My reasons for voting for McCain have nothing to do with his race. I'm fiscally conservative, morally libertarian, and hawkish. I don't trust Obama when it comes to dealing with national security. Furthermore, he's way too liberal for me. Those are the main reasons I won't be voting for him.
I would suggest to you that if you want to point the finger at white Southerners for not voting for Obama, it has more to do with conservative values in the south, and less to do with race. After all, the south elects more blacks, per capita, than any other region of the U.S. My mayor and police chief are both black. In fact, both candidates for mayor in my town (which is 70% white), were black in 04. So, I think you're off-base here.
