Criminalizing abortion will not stop abortions. Criminalizing abortion will cause thousands to seek illegal procedures from sources that will be less than competent or safe. People will die. There is no doubt.

And criminalizing murder won't stop murder. Doesn't mean that it shouldn't be done; and yes, people will die, there is no doubt.

It's certainly as futile! I can never understand why some people think that criminalising something (they perceive to be bad) makes it go away - it's like an out-of-sight-out-of-mind mentality. The law is passed and they repair to their beds with a sigh of ahhhh, got that fixed.

Some anti-abortionists in this forum are convinced it's only a matter of time before Roe is overturned; they seem to honestly believe that they will be able to turn the clock back.

Won't happen, IMO. Apart from the fact that it would be political suicide, those with even a modicum of common sense won't allow it to happen. Fortunately these rational people are in the majority!
